Bosch pump install ?s

I purchased a Bosch pump and am looking for any info i can get on installation. It is the pump with the large flat screen across the bottom. What fittings do I need? and is there a trick to getting it to sit at the correct level? What do I use to anchor it in place? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Grant

Which Bosch pump do you have? I have the model which supports 575hp... Blue in color etc.

All I did was pull out the old pump stick the Bosch in and use 2 hose clamps to hold it on the sending asembly...You should have got a section of fuel line and you'll have to splice that into the equation....thats about it other than the two wires for power and ground

Brad

Let me know if you need anything else

The pump I got looks exactly like the one at this site.

http://www.dougrippie.com/

It is the one with the full screen at the bottom(part #50-215). The only difference that I can see is that mine has both electrical connectors being threaded instead of a spade terminal on one side. So I might be able to just clamp a hose onto the outlet? I was thinking I might need an adapter from the threaded end to allow me to use fuel line.

thanks,
Grant

Has anyone ever tried to mount Bosch pumps intank like the stock factory pump is positioned? I want to do this, BUT I'm afraid of the pump having to be gravity fed.

yes im definetly interested in more info as well . i also just bought a bosch and would like to know exactly how you guys wired it up . if you have any pics and can post them or links to view would be good . my setup is a turboII engine in a 1st gen with To4e turbo . did anyone use resistors (where located) and did you use stock wiring of harness or were seperate lines run from battery?
thanks

Do you happen to have the original Bosch part number still stamped on the fuel pump?

The "-044" series Bosch fuel pumps are the 280lph ones.

Cartech FMU , T04e turbo , 3in exhaust from downpipe all the way to Apex N1 . stock 550 primaries and gsl-se secondaries. stock ECU stock boost is 7-8lbs . boost controller is bieng installed and so will the fuel pump and EGT . i would like to crank up the boost to at least 10-12 lbs ,do you think it will be safe with this pump and setup ? have any advice . thanks

Yeah, I came across that link, but I think the spec sheet said ">200lph", which means it can spec higher.

Pegasus Racing used to list these "Bosch Motorsports" fuel pump are from "Indy Lights" race cars and stated a "300lph" flow rate.

I think someone got the fuel pump spec'd from a reputable shop (RC Engineering? They do fuel pump testing.), and their numbers state around 270 - 280lph.  This is the most common flow rate associated with the 044 pump.

As a side note, there is a "979" pump listed as "> 165lph" flow rate, but I dunno how Bosch associates their part numbers.  It could have nothing to do with the 980 fuel pump.

If you do a Google search, one hit will show that the 980 fuel pump comes from a BMW 320 / 323, which would imply some very low flow rates.  I dunno how these modified V8 guys are using them on their cars?  I also found reference to jimlab trying to use them on his car - you might want to PM him about them?
