New Garrett G40-1000 and G40-1150

Facebook Post

Does anyone have any info on the new Garrett G40-1000 and G40-1150? Saw this post on facebook and go excited. The G series turbos looked to be very impressive but there did not seem to be a good match for a rotary. These may be a good match but I have not been able to find any information.

77mm inducer turbine (no exducer info) good rotary size
Ceramic bearings, stainless turbine housings

What is nice is a more compact compressor cover, instead of GT42 size...

According to the video below T4 divided housings will be available( unlike some of the other new models like the G42 compact etc)

Unfortunately these will also be super expensive, so it will be a long time until we see data on them...

Thanks for the post Elliot. Kinda wish there was a compressor in between the 62mm and 71mm.

For the price I think EFRs are better options.

Garrett GTW series I think are better bang for the buck.

the 80% center island has me rethinking a G35 purchase 🤔 wish it was a bit higher Pr though … the 70% efficiency width from 33 lb/min -73 lb/min @ 20 psig isn’t shabby though

It’s also not the same -900 compressor assembly as the smaller G30/35; different compressor exducer, trim, and AR …
