I'm using the 177275 with my set up with the .91 hot side. My turbo is smaller than that one you have listed and on my set up with a street port and short manifold, I don't hit any kind of boost until ~3800rpm. Then around 4500 everything let's loose and it gets exciting. I'm also v mount so my piping is pretty minimal with a greddy core. That turbo you have listed for your set up is going to be nothing but lag. Considering your specs, you'll probably have lag until ~5000. Comparing that to my own car of course. You could offset that by using a smaller hot side but Idk what that will do to your top end. You should just use a smaller turbo.

That is probably overkill for 350-400 as stated above. Also, the SX line is the older line of turbo's I believe.
Maybe a Borg Warner S257 SX-E 57/61 12769095003 might be a better turbo for you.
I'm sure someone with more knowledge could steer you better.

The 177280 OP us asking about is an S360 83.5mm/60mm compressor and 76mm/68mm turbine with an undivided 0.88 A/R turbine housing. That's a size smaller than the S366 with a comparable turbine housing.
7beast, if you have an undivided manifold the 177280 isn't a bad choice for your goals. Strokercharged95gts S257 SX-E recommendation is good as well but will favor lower rpm performance. What are you going to use the car for?
Strokercharged95gt, I've been following your build on the 8 forum, are you going to leave me hanging for updates?

Your 177275 is a S366, 91.4mm/66mm compressor and 80mm/73mm turbine with a divided 0.91 A/R turbine housing.

thank you sir for the knowledge, I plan on using the car as just a weekend car just want it nice and dependable and don't mind sme good power . But I don't plan on daily driving it sir.. I just need to make sure I make a correct choice on turbos. Don't want anything too big with tons of lag or something to small that will run out too quick..
IMO, the 257 is too small, maybe if a 1.15 turbine housing was available, but not with whats available. Not that the 257 will not meet your goals, but it will be maxed out. The next best option on the BW journal bearing lineup is the "62mm" BorgWarner 13009097056 on a .91 or 1.00 turbine housing

while your power target (350/400) is on the moderate side i would advise you against getting too small a turbo since the rotary needs 30% more flow you do need a robust hotside or you will be running relatively high exhaust gas temperature and exhaust backpressure neither of which is good. i suggest either the Borg Warner S300 60 inducer or the newer Borg Warner SEX 62. you would be fine w the older S300 60 both as to power, spool and EGTs/backpressure with a .91 hotside. you could also snag a used GT3582r if you wished but i much prefer any of the Borg Warners as they have a 6.3 square inch turbine wheel v 5.17 w the Garrett...a better rotary fit.
Borg Warner S300 #177272 or 177280 which has a 90 degree twist (forward facing) for the compressor outlet

If you are looking second hand gt3788r was a bit of an orphan with not much love but a perfect rotary turbo, P-trim sized turbine (like the bws being recommended) 63mm inducer with a low trim which means more boost for less shaft speed. Anyone who has run one loves them. They were the same cost as a cast 35r new with a fair bit more compressor flow and a lot more turbine.
