Best streetable turbo for my use!
 

I want to know what you guys think would be the best single turbo for my use. It will be one of my everyday drivers and at the track about once a month, if that. I just got my motor rebuilt 3,000 miles ago and I don't have any porting. My mods are: apex fmic, greddy elbow, pfs exhaust, dp, mp, power pulley, greddy 2pc pulley kit, power fc, walbro fuel pump, 1300 secondary injectors, greddy profec B, fluidyne radiator, and hks blow off valve. Also I am running a ACT s/s clutch, racing beat 9.5 flywheel, and 3.90 gears. I want to know what turbo I can get for street use that does not require porting or my engine to be redone. Also I'm would like a turbo that is very streetable for the life of my motor.

i would suggest a t60-1 or a gt 35/40

and this should be in the single turbo forum

if you want to keep the twins, you can go with the BNR stage 2 or 3 and run then non-seq. that way, you make the same HP as the small singles, less complicated than the stock twin system, and you still appear stock. i dont know about sacramento but in LA, singles are not legal!! but they cant tell if you have upgraded twins

i havent seen any proof that a non-sequential will produce more power than a sequential on the stock twins... just a different power curve.

Would one of those turbos work with my current mods so I don't have to change some of my mods that just bought? Would I need to get different injectors or a different ignition system.?

to put it simply....except for your catback and core of the engine, you'll need new/upgraded everything.

I do have a set of bnr stage 3 turbo that I was going to put on but I am thinking that I might go with a sigle instead. What do you think.

why is that, he would just need new piping for the intercooler and a new dp.. his injectors are enough to support him for a good amount of hp. and all his other mods can stay..

what he is going to need is the manifold, turbo, wastegate, plumbing for the turbo and wastegate, dp ect...

and you will be better with a more powerful ignition but you should be ok until about 15 psi.

why do you have 3.90 gears?

I think if you went with A-spec's 35r kit you would be very happy. I drive my car on the street mainly and there's plenty of power there for running around town. It spools quickly and still has a nice kick.

And the reason I have 3.90 gears is because it use to be a auto. I got it converted to 5spd. Not a easy or cheap project might I add!

TO4S would be better, because it spools good and gives you the option of good power. The TO4E starts running out of breath in the upper 300 hp levels.

reactive racing r85. dont go small. you will always want more and you can just keep the boost low on the r85. it will last longer than all of the mentioned turbos.

the rx6 sounds good ... it would fit with your fmic ( no new intercooler piping needed) and it comes with everything you need to make it work with your mods. added bonus it keeps the airpump for the smog guys out in cali

in addition to your current mods you will need an ignition amplifier and also colder plugs and wires or else you will misfire, plus you need dyno tuning as well. Try the T04e/T04S, or the GT35R

I guess I shouldnt have said that as I have no hard proof. The turbo has a 360 degree thrust bearing, inconel exhaust wheel, and uses a large shaft that are usually only available in large frame turbos. And if it does fail unlike ball bearing turbos it is very economical to have it repaired. The dyno sheet will be up in a week or two. Who knows, I may eat my words :D . I want to see a gt40bb dyno sheet as well.
