best ecu for single

Back when I had my last rx7 the pfc was the best. Now there are a billion options. Im going with a 8374 efr withthe xcessive lim and a good fuel system. Any input is helpful.

go with one a tuner has experience with in your area. the powerfc is plenty capable if you want to run that and have it.

If there is someone that supports Adaptronic or Haltech products near you they are much more flexible than PFC, they now allow engine protection based on oil & fuel pressure/differential and if you wish to run AI properly via ecu without shitty add on systems it is much cleaner and can be mapped better than pretty much any of the independent AI systems and there is no additional cost.

Adaptronic with flex fuel is a pretty nice thing to have if you have access to E85 in your area.

I want to recommend something all together different with different ideals here but I know it will just end up in a battle.

So I will not even mention any brand you guys can make that decision but I will recommend a Full Function trigger kit no matter what you get.

FD Trigger Mag | Full Function Engineering

Try and get something with knock control and multiple knock safety measures fuel spark etc.

On board data-logging isn't key but a bonus as no need to buy another component. Figure out what all you want to log as it all adds up really quick.

Auxiliary injection as mentioned before a must.

Do you want Traction Control and or Launch Control?

Extra bonuses would be if you want something that still controls OMP and supports multiple maps or tunes and how it switches from one to the other. Manual Knob etc.

It goes along the lines of the Turbo philosophy there are some basic must haves and if you want the best of everything you will have to figure out what peripherals you will be running, need to control, and what you need to monitor.

If you want all of that all on-board in a single ECU with no peripherals like boost controller, data logger etc.

Just some thoughts to think about before choosing and while researching what your needs are for the Best ECU for your setup.

+1. My first ECU was a Power FC and depending on your goals my be fine. So simple to tune with a Data Loggit anyone with tuning experience can get everything out of it with out issue. If you need more definitely go with what your best tuner in the area considers their bread and butter system. In my area what I consider the best tuner has major ties to AEM and knows all of there systems like the back of his hand. Just recently moved to a Infinity 6 and I am extremely happy.

Tell us what your tuner is most comfortable with first.

Not out of the box. You will have to pay to have a harness made to make it plug and play. Basically AEM does not make a plug and play harness. Not an issue as there are resources on this forum that can do this with very high quality. If you are really interested PM EB Turbo for more information. He will definitely be able to supply you with something that will not only meet your needs now but also add functionality for future use.

I would go with Haltech elite.

really depends on your goals which ecu is best but, from what you have listed Adaptronic or Power fc.
