B10EGV spark plugs

Im looking at running the above plugs in my FD, single T04B/E with about 18psi.

My question is do I need to run different heat ratings for the leading and trailing plugs or will both B10EGV's be ok?

mazpower 08-05-08 12:24 PM

I run those in my FD at 23 psi with meth injection. In my setup, the leadings tend to look a bit "cold", while the trailings look perfect.

rizzxx7 06-30-09 08:35 PM

what ignition are you running with these? and what's the fuss about running these with the twin power box?

TURSTY 06-30-09 10:40 PM

I have a different car now but I run these on the street, pump gas with a Twin power and they are fine at 480whp. They tend to let the engine temps get a bit to high when circuit racing for a number of laps though so I swap out to a set of colder plugs for racing.

papsmagu 07-01-09 05:02 PM

i run them in both leading and trailing. hks twin power with TII leading coil

Dudemaaanownsanrx7 07-02-09 12:49 PM

I used to run the b9egvs which were too hot for my setup. They say the non resistor plugs can burn up the twin power boxes. I never had a problem with mine. I have now switched to greddy race plugs which run a whole lot better then the egv's and supposed to last much longer too. Any car running an amp should stick with 10's or colder depending on your application, 9's just tend to burn up in my experience.

Don't try and run those B10EGV with magnecore wires........ they won't work.

I'm running the 11s with the magnecore wires, have been for over 2 years. What doesn't work?

Sounds like they work then, maybe its just Erics 350lbs hands trying to push those tight ass wires on.....

Viking War Hammer 07-02-09 03:10 PM

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

kan told me they wouldn't work....... and mine didn't. Lots of breakup, I swapped out to resistor plugs and that solved my problem

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

turboR1 07-02-09 05:03 PM

Yeah, Ray only wanted me to run the ngk's )$$) plugs.... I have a couple sets I swap out now. Would love to run a cheaper set but hate to chance anything.. Kinda like running cheaper fuel than Q16....

No these are the same as the ngk 7420 i believe is the part number. Not sure the difference but i think the 7420 are made with better materials for longer life.

Ah yeah they are the other option I run. What are they worth over in the states? Here in NZ they are about $100NZD each! :icon_tdow

that funny because he (Kan) was tunning my car about 4-5 years ago and i was having iginition break up (all 9's) and he suggested that i try the B10EGV's and it solved the problem..........goes to show you that every set up different.

i will report back on the magnecors....taking the car to morosso on Sunday and should be doing some spirited driving :icon_tup::icon_tup:

wow that is some serious coin for plugs. i get my B10EGV's at advanced auto parts for $18 bucks a set (4)

Viking War Hammer 07-02-09 08:26 PM

yeah, my old fd made 603 whp with those cheap plugs too....... but I don't remember what wires I was running

Dudemaaanownsanrx7 07-02-09 08:41 PM

In the long run it will work out cheaper. The greddy race plugs are supposed to last 20 times longer. My b9egv's only lasted a couple months.

rizzxx7 07-02-09 08:55 PM

I haven't seen the greddy plugs for less than $30 and it takes a few days for me to get them
