Anyone with experience running Non-intercooled with W/A injection?
This is quoting a post by Viking War Hammer over in the auxilary injection forum. I figured it would see a little more traffic here and was wondering if anyone had any experience with it, or thoughts about it. I am currently in the process of converting my car to running non-intercooled with just water/methanol injection (not because of this thread :)) we started the project awhile before I saw this posted...

makes sense that you'd get cooler intake temps... Not metal box for the air to go through, no lag, to turbulance... how can you go wrong.
Although, with my first experiment with methanol/water, I chewed into the leading edge of my compressor wheel a little... too much meth. Takes some tuning and trial/error |
I'm putting my HKS intercooler up for sale, so if anyone needs one.
I'll be running my setup like the picture above. |

This is my new intake setup...
I should see some much cooler pre compressor temps taking air from here. The radiator also sits a lot more upright, which will make it much more efficient...especially considering it wont have anything but the filter in front of it and nothing behind it except the fans and shroud... http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/th...take%20001.jpg |

Probably no comparison but thought it was interesting. |

I am only running a .3mm Aquamist nozzle precompressor. The bulk of the water/methanol comes in downstream at the elbow where I have a 1.0mm jet (may go with a .9mm). |
Elliot at Turblown, just took my car for a spin initially without the intercooler and he was seeing 4-6 degrees C above ambient (45C that day)...with the intake sucking off the radiator and a less than ideal ducting setup, without the w/i system tuned.

if i'm not mistaken, cozmo's intake temps were LOWER with just meth... even meth + intercooler.

So, how much Meth are you guys able to dump into your motor before it floods out ?
I guess that's depends on ignition, huh ? I'm not going to mess with water, just the liquor. |
you tune the car with methanol as a fuel... so it doesnt flood
if you are gonna spray straight meth, I'd mount the injector after the turbo |
