I have heard people say that it is just an ssautochrome but I don't think so, The wastegate tube is locatedin a different spot and it looks like it could be larger tubing.

i have not seen one of thier maniflods personally... that being said a friend of mine got a SSautocrome fc manifold that looked exactly like that. no real tubing to it it was kind of a pressformed halfes welded together. it did not fit a t72 turbo he needed to add another t4 flange to it to get the space right.

now from thier pics they look identicle especially look at the flange dosent even look flat in a picture (look at the t4 corners) and the block flange mount holes arnt even centered. i would qusetion that maniflod even if they took me to thier place and showed them making it for me.

seriously it looks like crap. think of it this way you go to Mcdonalds drive-thru and look at the menu see how good that double quarter-pounder w/ cheese looks on the menu.... then you get it and its a slapped together slathered with some type of product ressembling cheese and looks like the fat lady at the circus sat on it for the last 3 hrs. and thier photo actually looked good so what do you think your going to recieve when you order something from a menu that the picture that looks like a 6yr old made it????

I bought an ssautochrome mani and it looks just like that one. From what I understand though the fc manifold holds up well and it fit my car with a t70 just fine. Also the welds on mine where very nice! I took it too two different welding places and they both thought no other welding was needed because the tig welds on them they said looked great. Maybe you got a crapy looking one along time ago but the newer ones aren't bad at all. I really can't speak of the longevity of them being that it's I've only had it on for two dyno sessions but I'll surely post on the results if it ever fails prematurely.

ITSWILL 11-18-08 06:30 AM

unfortunately I cannot afford an 800 to a 1000 dollar manifold right now. And even though Mc Donalds looks like shit is still tastes good in some disgusting way.....

ITSWILL 11-18-08 06:32 AM

yeah honda hater I posted that my turbo was a T60, I don't know what I was thinking it is a T70 like yours. Have you run your setup yet ( I believe you have, I think I saw something in the 500hp club) how is it working?

hondahater 11-18-08 06:37 AM

The dyno results will be out this week. The first dyno was 400hp at 17psi at only 5900rpm. The engine has since had extra dowls put in and better apex seals. Kilo will be putting it on the dyno this week and I'll be able to see what it will be at 22-25psi @ 8,000rpm. I can't wait :)

edit: To get back on subject there are alternatives out there that aren't as expensive as some of those 800-1000 dollar ones but better than the ssautochrome manifold. Seriously if I were to do it all over again and had a bit more cash to play around with I would get one of those nice ones but on a budget the hks and greddy log manifolds have proven to be strong work horses. Also there is a guy on the forum who frequents the Microtech section who's name is rx72c. He is a very knowledgeable guy who has a link to his website and he has some manifolds that are cheaper than the 800 dollar ones. I haven't heard any feedback about those manifolds but I'm sure they are better than the ssautochrome ones. I believe this is the one http://www.raceonly.com.au/product_i...products_id=60.

ITSWILL 11-18-08 06:45 AM

Did you need those 2 extra pieces that come with the ssautochrome manifold. One is a wastegate extension tube? and the other is a T4 to T3 adapter, or maybe a spacer????

hondahater 11-18-08 07:04 AM

no I just used the manifold like it was. I did have to cut the WG flange off so that I could weld a Tial WG flange on. I also added one little piece of metal from the flange to the manifold for support.

ITSWILL 11-18-08 07:08 AM

im thinking about going with the 46 mm tial and it looks like it will bolt right on. Im assuming you used the 44?

hondahater 11-18-08 07:12 AM

Actually I used a TiAl 40mm wastegate :) Seems to be holding the boost just fine though. Again we won't know much till it's dyno'd this week.

Jason 11-18-08 09:04 AM

The manifold we sell for the FC is similar to the SSautochrome. We dont make the manifold. Some like them and some dont.

ITSWILL 11-18-08 09:24 AM

why do some like it and some don't? What feedback have you got from customers?

Jason 11-18-08 11:25 AM

I havent received any feedback on the ones I have sold. I was just saying in general there are some that like the SSautochrome style and some dont.

killahrx7 11-18-08 12:31 PM

had one of those manifolds after awhile it cracked in the welding seam. it also choked the car. the 3rd gen style is stronger as i had a hx55 mounted to it for 2 yrs and no cracks or problem.

ITSWILL 11-18-08 01:37 PM

I change my mind so often. I just decided to go with the Synapse Synchronic 50mm.

I got the whole kit with springs, flanges, seals and v-band clamp for $396.83 shipped from Nippon Power out of Florida. Great price, the guy I talked to was really cool and informative, I'm going to get any parts I need and they offer there from now on. Seriously cool folks check um out.

ITSWILL 11-18-08 02:28 PM

ok since I couldn't decide between the ssautochrome and the rx7store i just went with the ssautochrome since it is cheaper and more well known.

There's a guy on Ebay that has a manifold that looks just like that. He's in Australia too, I wonder if it's the same guy. He said the piping is 3-4mm steam pipe on the exhaust runners, and the wastegate runners are 1mm steam pipe. Not sure if that's good or not, but it's priced decently. With todays exchange rate, just over $200. Maybe someone can chime in and say if that's good enough for a rotary?? I know ZERO about that kind of stuff..

I personally don't care for the SSautochrome manifolds. I've had 3 and all 3 of them warped. :/

ITSWILL 11-18-08 07:30 PM

well I bought the ssautochrome one so I guess I'll get to warp one too. But in the meantime I'm gunna save up for something decent. I kinda like the neukin design.

The Griffin 11-19-08 03:09 PM

I've seen two versions of that ebay FC log manifold. the "clamshell" fabricated type that is pictured in the lst. post and a "tube" version that seemed to pop up later. I'm guessing the "clamshell" type would be more prone to cracking? Anybody know?
