Any engine modifications needed to run single turbo?

Got a question here. I've been looking into the single turbo setups and I'm thinking about getting one, my only question is, what needs to be done to the engine?

Streetport? 3mm apex seals? Bridgeport?......are any of these things a 'must have' if I'm looking into going single......? Or will a basically 'stock' engine be able to withstand the higher boost?

The stock motor will handle a single turbo setup...the real question is how long? Answer: not very

A good streetport would help the motor breathe alot better. That also helps a big turbo to spool up faster. Alot of people like to use the stock 2 mm seals, but many have had good luck with 3 mm seals. I have them in my motor, and it has been holding up well to 16-17 PSI from a Greddy T-78.

What exactly is a street-port and how much does it usually cost?

I plan on getting the KKK Stage II turbo kit that SR sells and I'll probably run around 16-19psi...should I just op for 3mm seals? And how much do seals cost?

Also, is this stuff 'do it yourself'? I know the streetport isn't but how about the turbo install and everything else?

A street port is where you enlarge both the intake and exhaust ports. Check out http://www.mazdatrix.com/faq/porting.htm for details. Going with 3mm seals requires cutting the rotors to fit them--about $150-200--and getting the seals, etc. Alot of people like Hurley seals, but stock 3 mm seals will work as well. Here's Hurley's web page:
