anti surge housing question
I know if you run a normal single without a BOV it will kill it eventually, but does the same hold true for turbos with anti-surge. I like the idea of not having a BOV but not buying a new turbo every 3-6 months.

I still run one. Diesels don't because they have no Butterfly valve in the throttle body. Some V8's don't because their turbo's are matched perfectly. I run a BOV eventhough I have an anti-surge housing. I don't have to run as big a BOV, but I do it anyway for safety.

The "anti-surge" housing has nothing to do with compressor surge from no BOV.
The anti-surge housing is just to minimize stalling from running too much boost at too little airflow rates. But, people run those anti-surge housings just to have the cool (whistling) sounds the turbo makes when it spools. -Ted |
Damit Ted I was just about to set both of them a fire
