anti surge compressor cover change...?
well i just got my anti surge compressor cover back from polishing for my 35r. now my question is i tuned the car on a regular bell compressor housing. will the anti surge change tuning much??

I was also wondering how tuning would be effected if the compressor cover was swapped from anti-surge to standard. I believe that if you were tuned with the standard housing you would run a tad more rich with the antisurge housing since it would be pushing a slight bit less air due to the recirculation in the housing. My concern is being tuned for the anti-surge housing and switching to the standard housing without retuning, would it push enough extra air to create a lean condition and possibly blow an engine without retuning? |
Nice noise maker and efficiency killer!!
Actually, the amount of efficiency loss will be small (with slight gain in surge line, which by the way is soooooo far left that a rotary wont EVER be in it). Although optimumly you'd need a retune, in all most likely hood it'll be fine. But don't take my word for it, get a wideband on your damn cars!!!!!!!!! ~Mike.............. |
