Aeromotive 1000hp fuel pump
Are these really that great, I mean they aren't terribly expensive. Anyone have one, and if so some thoughts please. I'm probably gonna run a T-88 set-up, at least a T-78 set-up, so I need it's high flow capabilities. Goin 1300s all the way around for injectors too I think. RRFPR shoudl I need one? heard mixed reviews of them. Will have a J&S and a Haltech most likely to control everything and monitor. So any input for anywhere on the set-up would be appreciated. Thanks. Mostly about the pump tho.

The 1000 aeromotive pump is a great pump.. It's good to 600+ HP.. Anything more then that you will need the Aeromotive Pro Which is about $400~500 and that should be good to 750+ Anything more then that you will need a WELDON pump..
You should also get the aeromotive fuel pressure reg.. Not everyone will agree with me BUT I wouldn't use the Greddy turbo's. You can save yourself some money and make more power with custom garrett or turbonetic turbo's. |
I have been thinking of going custom set-up, who here can make me a manifold? and can anyone give me a good substitute turbo for the T-78, the faster the spool the better. Do they make BB turbos that big, and are the other threads about the BBs not lasting true? Anyone (crispeed!!) help, the turbo sizing makes general sense, but once we get into P/Q trim and divided non-divided manifolds etc I just start getting confused. So something along the lines of 420 rwhp at 12 psi (everything else well tuned, and I'm mostly hoping for 500 rwhp at 20-22 psi). So throw me some hints since I love saving money for some other gadget for the FD (can you say Fikse or Kinesis wheels :D ). Thanks

I think if you only want to make about 500HP max and want a good turbo that spools up fast you should look into a 60-1 with .7 comp and with a divided tang 1.15 with P trim. You don't need the BB option, save your money for other goodies like the haltech, J&S knock sensor, good fuel system, etc.
As for who makes exhaust manifolds, check out SFP |

T04E 60-1 New! .70 compressor, 1.15 exhaust $700 Doesn't say wether it's divided or not and no mention of trim. -Jedon |
I want 500 RWHP at 20 psi (22 max), and there is plenty of money for the other goodies, so I'd prefer ot not skimp on the thing that makes the HP, since the haltech J&s and 4 1300s and the aeromotive shoudl work nicely. If I need any other fuel things (modified rail, RRFPR, etc.) then please tell me with a reason. Thanks.
Otherwise I'm gathering I should be getting a .7x X trim, large AR obviously, divided or not (does divided give more midrange power??) Thanks. Spyder420 |
Don't feel like your skimping if you buy a 60-1. Thats a great turbo for a street car. You will have plently of power on tap, trust me. Buy it new, with your specs... P-trim 1.15 divided.
Also get yourself a Tial Wastegate.. What i don't like is your injector choices 4-1300's ??? what you should use is 550 primaries and 1600 secondaries with aeromotive fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator. I would also use -10 fuel line(supply) and -8(return) The divided housing will help you spool up quicker with the right exhaust manifold. |

Yes it has a divided inlet, with a v-band outlet. Has a 2½" outlet on the compressor too, its an excellant turbo, go here to see its potential. https://www.rx7club.com/vforums/show...threadid=26681 I have the 1.00 divided inlet also, turbos are brand new never used. Can supply pics if you like. |
