Advise on turbo and fueling setup

Hi guys,

Just trying to piece together a potential setup, and would like some advise. This is a for a Series 4 FC, which is being built as essentially a time attack 1 lapper.

Stock S4 motor (will be rebuilt soon after the whole setup is in place with a large street port / extend port) looking for a nice round 400rwhp. This will likely be controlled by the new Adaptronic Modular ECU when they become available.

I have a HKS FC cast manifold.
Looking at a BW S300SXE with the 61.44/83.47mm wheels, single entry obviously.

So, my questions are to support this, is the following sufficient.

Will a single Turbosmart Hypergate 45 control the boost OK?

For fueling:
A Turbosmart FPR1200 with -6 lines off the stock hardlines to FFE Rails.
I was thinking 4 x ID1300's, but maybe 2 x ID1700s in the secondaries if needed.
A single in tank Walbro 460 E85 pump. With a Kenne Bell BAP for a little headroom if required.

Sound alright?? :icon_tup:

This kinda seems over kill for 400whp imo, dont really need to run e85, to hit those numbers reliably, could run 850 primarys 1200-1600cc secondarys np, would be just fine with a 300-400lph pump.

I think what he's put together sounds spot-on, but there will be enough headroom even without the BAP. One mans 400hp is another mans 450+ depending on who's dyno you use. Last thing you want to do is build the fuel system marginal.

Thanks guys.

I realise I forgot to mention I will be running E85 exclusively on this setup. It's available from a local pump. I'm not going to run it to get to 400, but the extra knock protection etc. Plus I daily it in my 300awhp Forester, so it makes sense!

So, at the moment I'll ditch the BAP (save some cash) and go with what's listed.

Just go with the 4 x ID1300s?

I'd err on the side of bigger on the injectors. you want more pump than injector, and more injector than air mass.
Not sure if the 45 gate is adequate or not - hopefully someone who knows for sure will chime in - but id be erring on the side of bigger with that too. Saw a couple of 2nd hand 50mm progates cheap on ebay earlier today.

I would at minimum run 2 1700 secondaries. If you go more than 17psi( which will require the bap to be on, then you will want 1700x4). Be aware they are on back order for months, best to get on the waiting list.

45 wg minimum for 12 psi or more, going 10 or less I would use a 50mm.

Thanks guys, sounds like I've got a list of bits to get.

I appreciate the help.
