602whp at 27psi pump gas meth tune
1 Attachment(s)
finally got some time to get my car back on the dyno. this time was on pump gas with a little more meth. I have more room to go on the pump gas meth setting as its still safe but my boost controller is still having an issue holding past 10psi over wastegate spring. car is strong and smooth all the way to 8500rpms. will be bringing it to 30psi on pump/meth soon, then max it out on the race gas. turbo is still a precision 6766 .

Good #'s

I dont have a whole lot of experience looking at rotary dyno graphs but doesnt the curve look pretty lumpy? Is that ignition breakup?
depends on the smoothening the dyno uses but you will see some some chop all my dynojet dynosheets look like that .
Nice numbers! I'd like to see this car in action on the street. What do you have for transmission/rear end?
vid of it on the racing kills sections shows how she runs. its pretty strong for a pump gas tune.
Is it worth going back to race gas ?
really nice pull especially given your turbo is mid sized (7 average sq inch compressor).
while i understand your sheet is zero smoothing i do think you may have some misfires. i have lots of DynoJet runs and, viewed at zero smoothing, there is always some wiggle yours looks to be a bit more. i had a similar sheet last year and we closed the gap (to .023) and the output smoothed out. the volatility looks to be occurring too often to be boost related. as we both know there has to be HUGE combustion chamber pressure and heat in order to make 600 rw/690 FW out of 1.3 liters... it does not appear to be too large an issue but i still would be looking at plug gaps etc again congrats on a nice run, you have built an outstanding FD. howard |
Thanks Howard , she runs ultra smooth on the street . I'm sure there could be a little break up I'm at a.025 gap. This Dyno usually has a bounce like that though because he has always a tach signal pick up issue. Even on the low boost pulls has that chop and even some missing section . I believe his electronic box is too close . I will try .020 gap next time see if it changes as well

You're still using a Power FC?
Still on the power Fc . I will be doing a final tune to see what I can really push out of the 67 then switch to adaptronic .
sounds like there maybe a new record made on the pfc!
Awesome numbers on pump gas! I'm running the same turbo, just switched to Adaptronic from the power fc. Looking forward to seeing your race gas numbers!
my previous race gas numbers were also on the power fc 644whp at 30psi , the boost controller was still doing the same thing only 10psi over spring. it came down to 627whp on 29psi so the turbo was still increasing. new boost controller has been here just havent had the time install it . once its in ill post up the new numbers.
Any update on your pump gas tune ?
pump gas tune is still the same I kept it at 27psi. next season I will up the meth injector and maybe shoot for 630-640whp on pump with the adaptronic. I did get to max out the turbo at 713whp at 40psi , that was on race gas however.
Really impressive setup
Must be a handful on the street. |

I made 624 at 24lbs on a full bridge, with PFC and gt42

I can't find my dyno graph of the 624 but here is the dyno graph of the guy I sold the motor too. When I worked at rx7store, he came down and bought the motor and we install it and did a dyno pull to prove it made the power.

drftinmx6, yes its a ball bearing 67
zayrx7, I recently did 713whp through the power fc. a bridge 42r will make great power but I set my car up for the street so I have a wide powerband with alot under the curve. |

often lost in the excitement of large numbers is...
actual ability to be fast as in winning races. for instance: power at 5500. you know 5500, you see it when you shift. if you don't have POWER at 5500 you will be looking at tail lights. when was the last time you looked at 5500 on a dyno sheet? you should. it is important. zayrx7 power at 5500.......... 345 STD hp or 337 SAE smg944 power at 5500......... 470 STD hp or 460 SAE howard power at 5500......... 453 STD hp or 443 SAE looks like the BP is down about 110 hp when it counts. bridgeports trade midrange power for top end. considering a properly done raceport makes kick ass power at 9000 yet LOOK AT THE MIDRANGE advantage... i will go w the raceport if it is a turbo'd dual purpose. caveat: many factors contribute to results and zayrx7's results might not be representative but please do appreciate the total dyno picture. howard |
the turbo that graft was not a gt42, sorry for the confusion. I'm going to try and my dyno graph to see what it made at 5000rpm
