1997 RX7 type RS Single Turbo problems

Hi I have the following set up

13B Single Turbo conversion td66 Trust Greedy Turbo, 45mm External Wastegate, Front Mount intercooler, Emissions controls removed (pluged up), not sure on the injectors I think they have been upgraded, with 3 Bar map sensor and HKS Fcon (piggy bac computer) the car seem to use a hell of a lot of fuel and not produce a whole lot of power has anybody had this sort of problem, then sometimes it goes really good for a bit like it's suposed to.

Any help or guides on what to look out for would be really appreciated also you can ask me questions about it to give you more infor thats all I can think of at the moment.

Cheers
Phil

Go and get it tuned.

If you have bigger injectors, and the car hasn't been tuned that's a problem. I don't know much about HKS piggy backs. But good luck on finding someone to tune it.

Yeah I agree... sounds like the car needs a few hours spent with a wideband oxygen sensor. I don't know how adjustable the HKS FCON is... so you might have a problem there.

I just put some injector cleaner in it and it seems to be getting better and better not sure though the car might be just having one of it's good days, will take it in to get tuned

Also what is a safe boost pressure for a TD66 turbo?

Don't waste your time tuning that. Sell it, and get a Power FC then tune it. The fcon is decent when using stock twins, ecu, injectors. But when you start going beyond that, such as larger injectors and full single conversion, you need the pfc to tune timing, fuel and such. You can only trick the stock ecu so much. Not speaking from experience (yet) but I have read 4 billion posts about this same subject since I too have pieced together a single kit with no instructions.:D

Good luck to you!
