What's the best/easiest way to seat a new carbon seal? It's the last thing I have to do before puting my stock S4 turbo back together and in the car. Thanks in advance

A socket that just fits around the edges and a hammer.

is there any better ways than just going at it with a hammer?

use a press. if you don't have one available, maybe a vice with a socket...or a drill press even.

a hammer is just asking for trouble.

will cooling the carbon seal help while pressing it in?

not enough to matter. it's a press-fit
