This page has pics of aftermarket rails installed. The injectors are installed in (stock) or under (aftermarket) the fuel rails. The stock ones look different, but are in the same places:

In general, the rails are located on the top of the engine, under the upper intake manifold.

cool , you rock maxcooper, here a another 1 . I'm new to the 3rd gen single turbo , it was my best frends x last year he past -away , hes fam and i go back so i now have the x ok , so all help is bitch'n the car came form the bay area, it has a deawoo n3a4 ecu? midpipe apexi 6 and when i go to start the car the tach jumps up and down like 7rpm and the car has not yet to crank over

I am very sorry to hear about your friend.

The ECU seems odd -- perhaps that is the stock ECU with an aftermarket chip installed in it? You might be able to tell by opening the ECU and looking for evidence of a chip upgrade. Posting a picture of the ECU (outside and inside) would allow people on the forum to help you identify it.

Normally, the stock ECU (even with a chip) is not appropriate for use with a single turbo. The engine might be blown from running the RX6 single with the stock (or chipped) ECU. If you do get it running, it might not be safe to boost it -- you might need to get a PowerFC (or other aftermarket ECU) and get it tuned. You might need larger injectors to run full boost, also.

I'm not sure what would cause the tach to jump around.

Where did you friend get the car serviced? Perhaps they can both help identify what parts are installed and troubleshoot the current problems.

When was the last time the car ran? If it has been a while, it might need new gas, oil, and spark plugs.

If I were you, I would:
1) Try to gather other information about what is installed. Contact any shops that worked on it. Contact local club members to see if they know anything about it. Did you friend keep a file on the car, or have a collection of manuals and info for the parts he bought? Post pics of the engine bay, ECU, etc. and people on this forum will help identify stuff. If your friend posted info on any web sites (forums, personal web site) about the car, look for that information. You need to figure out if the ECU and fuel system are up to the task of supporting the single turbo installation. So far, it sounds like they aren't.
3) Try to get it started to see how it runs WITHOUT BOOSTING IT (or you might blow the engine). Perhaps some new gas, oil, spark plugs would help. Starting fluid and/or squirting some oil in the nipples on the outside of the UIM to aid in compression may also help. Once you get it started once, it will probably be a lot easier to start the next time, especially if it has been sitting a while.
4) If it seems to idle okay, the engine probably isn't blown. If the idle is rough or the vacuum is low and/or jumpy the engine may have compression problems. A compression test would help make this determination if the idle quality is poor.

If you don't want to do all this stuff, you might need to tow it to a shop to have them sort it out. Post in the West forum for recommendations -- there are some good and lots of bad shops out there, and most normal (non-RX7) shops will be clueless about the rotary engine. Alternately, a local club member that is knowledgable about these cars may be willing to come check the car out and help you figure what is wrong with it if you ask nicely (beer, pizza, and/or money are good motivators, too).

If you get that far, you are then faced with the issue of whether or not the car can run boost safely. Post here again when you are ready for the next steps.
