A-Spec Tuning - satisfied afterall

Long story short, I dropped my s4 T2 engine off to them to have it rebuilt in nov. 06. I just now got it back after numerous delays on parts, which should have been ordered last year. Get it back and I am missing parts all over. Parts which are critical for the engine to run but yet were somehow overlooked. I finally got some of the parts, which they just regular ground shipped to me, and they are the wrong parts!! And I realized today also that I am missing more parts off the motor, a motor by the way they charged me $5k to rebuild. So now here I am typing this instead of driving my car. Sean has been cool to deal with, but their customer service area sucks, horrible communication, I had to make several calls to find out what was going on after days of not hearing anything about my missing parts. This has just been a over all very dissappointing experience. Now granted my car is not there, they shipped me the engine, but they still should've caught all the stuff I need to make the engine run. BTW, when they shipped the engine much to my surprise they didn't even tape off or cover any of the exposed holes of the engine!!! I can only hope that nothing got in there on it's way to me from illinois. I did just end up buying some of the parts that I needed from mazda, which sean did say he would pay me back for, I faxed them a copy of my receipt 3 days ago, and I haven't heard a word back from them in regards to it, but I'm not that surprised that I haven't, are you after reading this? Just my .02$........

Just an update to this story...sean did refund money in a amount that I am happy with. He has been great to deal with. Although I have no doubt to the quality of rebuild that I got from him, he has been having to deal with a difficult situation at the shop. I did inform him that he needs to improve on the customer service side of his business, and he agreed with me. Hopefully in the next couple of days I will have another post in regards to how the engine is performing....stay tuned.....

Lg. streetport, lapped irons, new rotor housings, all new bearings, stationaries, seals, stud kit, pineapple oil pan, racing beat flywheel, oil pump and chain, pretty much everything is brand new except the rotors and the irons.

well update to this thread...I started the engine today, only to discover the front cover leaking oil like crazy. looks like it's leaking from where the frt. cover mates to the front iron on the drivers side. so now i get to take all my stuff back off and out that I just got done putting all back together, and try to correct this problem myself....

I'm sure Sean will take care of you. Sometimes stuff gets through the cracks, but it's how the shop handles the situations when problems arise that counts. He will stand by his work, otherwise I'll have to stop by there and kick him in the junk!

you need to give him a chance to look/work on it before you start fixing it yourself...to prevent all the un-necessary "you fucked it up, no, YOU fucked up" arguements....

Well I agree merciless, only problem is I'm in ohio and he is in illinois. I sent him pictures of what is leaking, and he is helping me and walking me threw on what he wants me to do. Sean has been good to deal with, this is just a unfortunate setback to both of us.

well I now have some good news to post, after talking to sean about what to do with this. I removed the front cover and resealed it myself started the car up and so far all looks good, no leaks! Sean was cool in paying for the o-ring and gasket and giving me tips on what to do.
