Cool, how many miles are on it?

fredox19 03-15-08 10:47 PM

This is what they claim
"1. How many miles do the engines have?
We honestly do not know and if any of our competitors quote you a mileage figure, they are only guessing. THE 25,00 MILE THEORY. This theory originated by taking the average yearly Japanese driving miles and multiplying that figure by the average years the vehicle stays in use in Japan. While this average might be close, it is not exact. We have been to Japan ourselves and we have seen actual cars with 25-35 thousand miles. It is rare that the mileage exceeds 60 thousand miles."

I wish I knew about Tiger about 6 months ago, I never would have bought and rebuilt this TII engine. I'm in almost 2K on this engine and the TII engines they sell are about 1300 shipped! damn

It's working for me. And just as a side note I started the engine today and it started right up. :)

dawicka2 03-16-08 05:48 PM

freedox.... did your engine come with a startup guarantee, and what were the compression numbers?

1240.00 seems like a good deal if the motor runs with good compression, but a way over priced collection of scrap metal if it doesnt. You can buy cores for about half that. I wish corksport was still selling jspecs, i have had no problems with mine since i installed it last summer. They stood behind the engine and gave me an engine with about 120psi on all 3 faces of both rotors. Paid 1800 dollars or something.
Just be careful is all i have heard way too many horror stories regarding j import engines.

i wouldnt recommend gotjdm.com. a good friend and i are building a s13 with an rb25 that we ordered from them. we called ahead of time to verify that it was in stock, they offer free shipping, and find out what all was included. they offered to also include the stock mafs and ignitor for 200 extra. he paid the extra for it and when the motor came there was all kinds of shit wrong. one valve cover was cracked (which thank god they were already aware of and threw another valve cover on the pallet with the motor and trans. the shifter bushing are busted the motor mount on drivers side is busted in half, the turbo is blown and they never sent the mafs or ignitor that he paid for. they sent him an early 89 motor out of the wagon after we paid for an r33. after recieving and unpacking we photographed the entire ordeal from unloading to unpacking and condition as part of his photo album of the build. we called for 3 weeks just about everyday and emailed the photos and plenty of requests for some replacement parts and/or compensation to no avail. now they wont return his calls or respond to his emails and he now has to source all of those other parts.

Damn, with that kind of service and products I think I'll stay away from them. Thanks for the info.

did you get the motor running?

Driftin86FC 03-17-08 02:00 AM

I ordered an s4 swap from them and they shipped quickly (exactly one week). The ad said: engine, tranny, ecu and uncut harness, but when it got to me there was no ecu and the harness was cut. I called em up and they were quick to ship me an ecu, but they said the harness was a lost cause. They said it wouldn't reach because it was for RHD, which is true, but with little modification it would have been useable.

Same man, I don't want to spend all that money for something that I'm going to have problems with.

And :O what area?

cburriss 03-18-08 12:09 AM

I wouldn't recommend buying from them either, I bought an S5 engine from them and was supposed to come with uncut harness and ECU. Harness was hacked to shit and called for ECU for it was not in my package when taken off the truck. Ordered on 12-12-07, received on 12-23-07, and still haven't received ECU like they told me. They said would ship me the ECU and as of 3-17-08 I still haven't received it. Worst of all found out the engine would not turn at all on 1-17-08, called, and emailed. No answer and no reply. Filing law suit hopefully that will wake their ass up. LOL

People over here take trains for anything longer than a 100 miles. Let me give you my own example. We got a car. We drive about 10 miles a day on average from our house to daycare to our office and probably 20-40 miles over the weekend. Thats about it for my family. I have another friend who probably drives around 10-15 hours a day every day. All he does is drive, every day of the year, 6 days a week. He sells cars at the Japanese auctions. So, if you get your hands on his engine, you are probably not going to be like it but if you get mine, you would be the luckiest person around. Unfortunately, I dont have an RX7. I just got RX7 engines in my warehouse. Boy, they look huge.
