Old 3-piece Racing Hart C2s. They've been out of production for about 5 years or so.

The only thing that has been said is:

already in negotiations with Treceb .
Nothing as of yet as to actually having one and when/if a mold will be ready (or an estimated price either), from "shineautoproject" that is. I suppose that statement could mean many things, but to me that means he doesn't yet have one and is trying to make a deal to get one for the mold.

wptrx7 03-07-07 01:29 PM

I thought I read he was doing it for $300 + shipping.

So, without even seeing it he was just throwing out a price to see who would be interested. What if he finally sees it and the price needs to be higher to cover his costs? IMO, it's not a real estimate until he's actually seen it.

My wife had her landscaping project estimated at $12k about a month ago. Now the contract has come back to me to sign and the cost is about $25k. So, I'm a little hesitant at "estimates" when people haven't even seen what they are estimating.

The final price may be $300, or it might be more or it might be less. However, he still hasn't posted that he has the part or has even seen one aside from the pictures here on the forum.

ok so let me get this right, now the only problem is that shine cant get one to make a mold correct? and estimated price is about $300 - $400? if so i think i might have a plan.

the plan:
1. they have them for sale online for about $700 (the cheapest i can find so far).
2. eveyone drop a non refundable deposit (for example lets say 14 ppl x $50=$700) to shine to show some good faith.
3 have shine buy it and make a mold.
4. deposits goes towards purchase price, everyone gets diffuser! :beerchug:

i for one is ready to drop a deposit! good or not or am i missing something else?

wptrx7 03-11-07 11:50 AM

That sounds like a great idea if he can gaurantee the price to stay between 3-400, preferably 300. I'm down for a deposit to purchase the diffuser if that is the hold up.

Non-refundable deposit list:

Can we get someone from Shine to chime in on this before you start to take money? Can they make it, most likely yes.

IMO, Shine should cover this expense, obviously we have enough intrested people here even if 50% back out. They wont loose money on this if they decode to make one.

rx7nam 03-12-07 07:12 AM

no one is takin anyones money. what i suggested was to show dedication and hopefully give ken some motivation to move forward with this project.

Mahjik 03-12-07 10:22 AM

IMO, people need to be patient. There hasn't been an announcement yet that he will not be able to borrow/rent one for a mold. While he may not have one today or this week, people should relax and just give it some time.

If you own an FD, you need to get used to waiting for things that you really want.

shineautoproject 03-12-07 07:17 PM

Woah Woah Woah. LOL. I haven't checked back on this thread in several days and some of you are over zealous. That's a good thing...sometimes. Treceb's diffuser is on it's way. He's been busy with work lately.

I believe the Re-Amemiya diffuser is discontinued.

shineautoproject 03-12-07 07:18 PM

I've estimated the diffuser to be roughly $300 plus shipping. If im wrong, it would only be a bit more than that, not much. However, I could be wrong on the shipping. I need to measure the size in person first.

adictd2b00st 03-13-07 09:51 PM

Still in on this , and glad to hear some feed back from Shine.

Anyone ever see this on a fd with the rear mud flaps on ? Just wondering if the diffuser could be trimed to fit around the flaps.

Noxlupus 03-14-07 10:19 AM

Both of these were posted earlier in the thread. Both have mud flaps if I'm not mistaken.

Herblenny 03-14-07 01:35 PM

This one has some sort of aftermarket mud flaps or bumper add on..

This is my car and I put the stock mud guards on.

RotorMotor 03-14-07 01:43 PM

in this picture (and in a few others) it seems that the fins are slightly crooked.... anyone else notice that? i wonder if shine can "tweak" the diffuser at all. maybe its just an optical illusion, but check out a few other pics and tell me im not crazy.
https://www.rx7club.com/attachment.p...hmentid=227062

RotaryDreamz 03-14-07 01:54 PM

if i am not mistaken, but you would need to modify the diffuser in order to have the mudflaps on, correct?? is that what you had to do herblenny?

RX72NR 03-14-07 05:07 PM

Wow this thread I started sure took off, looks like Shine owes me a free difusser! Just kiddin fellas.

shineautoproject 03-14-07 05:33 PM

I did notice a couple of crooked fins myself. I'll check it out in person....make measurements and we'll go from there.

thanks ken. it looks like someone at RE had a few drinks while making the mold

also (and im sure you wouldnt be able to answer this without seeing the piece in person) i was wondering if the fins themselves would be a solid piece or hollow in the middle. the reason i ask is that... while i really like the diffuser alot (and will buy it either way) i cant stand how the fins come down square and stop. they just dont seem to flow with the body... so after i got mine i wanted to shape the fins with a bit of an angle/rake downward... however if they will be hollow id second think my plan to try and change the fin shape. also, i imagine the possibility of doing this depends on what materials they are constructed from. :)

thanks, heath

RotorMotor 03-15-07 12:47 AM

hmm i just took a second look at the diffusers and i believe the "crooked fins" are an optical illusion... the side fins have are angled but the center two (for some reason) end in nearly straight 90's. its odd to me that they did this... maybe having everything the same bored them, or maybe they wanted to make it look more "racey" and have two longer straight fins in the middle (in my opinion they just dont extend far back enough to make that distinction, and end up making the diffuser look crooked). my hope was to shape the fins to look at bit more like this ;)
http://www.mercedes-benz.co.jp/slr/i...yling_rear.jpg

XxMerlinxX 03-15-07 01:13 AM

Is this going to be made in c/f or fiberglass? I assumed it was c/f, but every picture I've seen has been of fiberglass so far.

wptrx7 03-15-07 08:29 AM

I think he can only answer that when he gets the diffuser, but for now he is sure it will be FG. It was never made in CF by anyone, FYI.

This one has more fins, and I think it would look good on the FD. I also like how it comforms to the body. If either of these "features" could be put into place that would be fantastic. Eitherway, I'm down 100%.
