Hey Guys. I just wanted to post some "teaser" pics before the weekend. I actually would like to start a new thread for this an explain more about the posted pics of the prototype later.

Would this provide better hood clearance for strut tower bars? If so count me in.

Well. We hope so. The way we made it.. it will be clear as any Feed hood could be.

Mold is 95% complete. We're going through the polishing stages before we produce our first part. First part will be in FRP reinforced with carbon. I'd expect 2 weeks before the first piece is displayed and test fitted

Can I be first in line for a carbon plain weave?

The last photo on post #555, isn't that a Mazdaspeed R-spec CF hood?

Yes indeed. Most have not seen the underside of the super rare Mazdaspeed R-Spec hood and I wanted to share that to show what our motivation was for cleaning up the underside. We're aiming for a professional look top and bottom. This will be our best hood yet and definitely the best Feed style hood on the market with all of the bells and whistles.

*Stainless Steel latch striker and hinge mounts. Our latch striker is professionally designed and will be properly adhered to ensure reliability (won't break off like a jimmy-rigged latch).

*A professional looking underside that allows extra clearance along with smoother exit airflow

*Light-weight and well constructed.

*Accurate Feed style design on the top side. These were not Feed style vents grafted onto an OEM hood. We stayed true to design and worked off a mold which was built off an original Feed hood. This means the vent locations are exactly where they were intended to be and not guestimated by being grafted on (can be slightly far forward or far backward).

Not many have an opportunity to examine a genuine Feed hood up close. The very back edge of the hood (facing the windshield) is noticeably (by comparison) raised. The raised back edge sort of acts as a third vent. Most refer to the Feed hood as having two moon shaped vents. If you count the raised back edge and pay close attention to the design, it is actually 3 (or very close to it). This is why I posted comparison pics to the back edge of an OEM hood. The difference is clear and adds to the genius of the design. This is also why grafting 2 Feed style moon-shaped vents onto an OEM hood doesn't really stay true to the original design. We tried that and I ultimately, decided to ditch that prototype, which is why this project has taken alot longer than expected. We wanted it done right.

We'll have a better idea of pricing as soon as we have one made.

Now that you've done the FEED hood are you going to start on the FEED AFFLUX GT3 Kit now? Will definitely be first in line for a group buy

I don't believe we have any interest in that kit unfortunately.

Here are a few teaser pics of the beautiful underside of the first production piece . This is an FRP hood reinforced with carbon for added strength and stability. Pure FRP is a bit too fragile and will have more vibrations during high speeds. This is essentially built like most carbon hoods, except the FRP layer goes first and the carbon layer goes second (reversed laminant schedule.)

Hood weighs roughly 15.5 lbs. Oem hood weighs 20lbs. Slight weight savings, but more effective cooling.
