FAQ?
  • Is there an admission fee or show fee this year?
  • Is show display space limited, as it has sometimes been in the past, requiring one to line up at O-dark-thirty to insure a place on the show lot? Or can we eat breakfast in sunlight before showing up? :D

1. The Raceway charges $10 per person, we don't see any of that, it's a standard fee
2. We have TONS of space but we will be closing the lot at some point as we need to get the cars staged and can't have cars moving all day. (other then track participants but they're in a dedicated area)
No need to show up as early as we have in the past but you should plan to get there before 8.
Or better yet: join us in the caravan to Willow Springs to kick off the day in style https://www.rx7club.com/west-rx-7-fo...ravan-1009547/

Rotary-MG 09-11-12 12:57 AM

I just signed up my '85 for the Track event. It doesn't look like much, but I'll be having a good time!

Jedi54 09-11-12 01:42 PM

we're getting REALLY close to selling out the remaining track spots for SevenStock 15 so if you've ever wanted to track your car or have tracked your RX-7 in the past, don't get left out!

It honestly might be another 15 years before we do another track event, if EVER.

Seriously... the track fee is so cheap compared to what it used to be a few years ago. And like I've said before.... no one says you have to drive the car at the limit all the time. It's a lot of stress on the car and the driver lol. Some people are well prepared for that and that's great, but if you're like most people you just want to enjoy your car and there is no better place for that than the track. You can drive as fast or as slow as you want, no one is going to ticket you!

My mindset is to go out and have fun I don't mind at all letting people pass me, I know if you're faster than me, cuz you're on my ass!

And yes, to those of you who are putting this on, I know it's a huge undertaking. I appreciate it and that's part of the reason why I signed up :) I wouldn't be surpirsed if a track day is never put on again :(

Jedi54 09-14-12 04:35 PM

mdpalmer: that's a perfect way to look at this event.
we're not out there trying to smash records or anything, at the end of the day it's all about Rotary cars and having a fun day. :)

thanks for the support, we greatly appreciate it.

Rotary-MG 09-19-12 09:32 PM

Any information on the Friday night Event?

So far the website still shows TBD.

We're going up early on Friday, booked a suite in Palmdale.
Looking forward to the pre-party!

Carmageddon that weekend, beware!

Jedi54 09-20-12 05:20 PM

Rotary-MG: We're scoping out a few locations this weekend for a little Friday night mixer.
we're hoping to report something soon.

Seven!! 09-20-12 08:42 PM

Unfortunately I wont be able to let the FD beast out of its cage this time, but ill be there to enjoy all of what sevenstock15 has to offer. A few questions for the event planners...

Are the spectators of the track event able to set up some kind of easy up or canopy to escape the heat? If so where?

Will we be able to bring our personal BBQs and food to the event or will food and drinks be provided like it has been at past SS events?

Any update on Fridays events?

Yes, you can bring a grill & bbq.
Yes, there will be food there too. The track cafe will be open & prepared to serve 2500+.

There will be X-LARGE tents for your comfort, plus we are working on some cooling stations. We're starting to see the forecast now, 88-90F about 9 days away, weather has been on our mind since day 1.

Setting up your own ez-up/ canopy, you'll need to make sure the cars around you are ok with it. Can't set up anywhere random, like fire lanes or pathways.
I suppose the bleacher areas are game, without interfering with access.

Final prep week begins... time to start buttoning up any ongoing projects!

Seven!! 09-21-12 04:18 PM

And any word on what's going to take place on Friday the 28th.

Jedi54 09-22-12 02:20 PM

Seven!!
We won't have our usual Friday night karting but we're looking into a mixer type hangout at a local watering hole.
We're at the venue today doing final planning and hoping to scout out a location for Friday night that wouldn't mind having 100+ of us invading.

Rotary13B1 09-22-12 10:26 PM

Scouting is done! Friday night SevenStock mixer will be at The Claim Jumpers located here:

Time: 7pm
You are welcome to arrive earlier of course. No one can stop you.

Location:
Claim Jumpers
1247 W Ave P
Palmdale, CA 93599
(661) 274-0900
Claim Jumper Restaurants

We have reserved the outside patio that's good enough for 100 people!

Folks, we need to get this message across...

If you are bringing a canopy or EZ-Up, please bring some anchors or anything effective to hold it down.

We encountered some serious winds this weekend @ the track. On previous visits we hadn't much more than a strong breeze.

Let's help each other prevent a 10x10 EZ-Up from flying 50 feet onto someone's car!

We also suggest umbrellas if you'll be watching from the bleachers, that sun was bright!

Help. Ride up to Sevenstock needed on Friday, and ride back to San Diego Sunday. Will pay for half your gas. I have my hotel room and roomie situation all tied up, just not enough cash or wheels (ah, last minute drama o.0....).

^^ good call, I've had one of mine get blown away when I was out on track :( toolbox, spare tire, floor jack, and some bungee chords/rope fixed that problem :)

One question: for the track day people... is there going to be an air conditioned building we can hang out in? They must have an admin office there... I know they can't sit around in 90-100+* heat all summer w/o A/C :icon16:

zilvinas: the gates will open up around 8 am and the show goes on at the same time as the track. Show usually wraps up around 4 o'clock.

88rotors 09-27-12 02:42 PM

I would love to make it to this event, but I don't think my GTU would be up for the 2k mile trek! Although, I like the shirts!

overpaid4myfc 09-27-12 06:26 PM

I had a question, if we dont drive in with the caravan will we still be able to park our RE vehicles inside the event with the rest of the caravan? and is it a first come first serve type of deal?

Jedi54 09-27-12 06:44 PM

the caravan has priority parking, all others will be parked in the show afterwards.

Both Caravans, including the IE one Alex is organizing?

Jedi54 09-28-12 12:51 AM

only the main carvan organized by the SoCal RX club will have priority. I'll be leading that group Saturday morning as we make our descent to the Raceway.

There are other caravans organizing that are meeting up with us before departing for Willow.

Rotary13B1 09-28-12 03:03 AM

Yes, Jedi54's MAIN SoCalRX CLUB CARAVAN has priority entry to the event on Saturday morning! :icon_tup: (check that thread out!)

That's the incentive for joining the WORLD'S LARGEST RE CARAVAN this year!!

What if you're coming from the north? I think that's kinda unfair to the other people who can't physically be a part of it.

Speed Demon2288 09-29-12 03:14 AM

I hear ua on that man, we drove 900 miles to get here. Not sayin either way cause im glad to be here. should be first come first serve basis
