Nah... it would not have even been impressive if it was quick...

All it was, is well, annoying!

Its people like that that draw the attention of the cops to the show, and make a bad name for everyone. He should not even been let in. Blame him for any tickets anyone got for sound! He drew the cops like sharks to blood.

I got a ticket between Santa Barbra and Gaviota in no where land. Guy clocked me at 103 in a 65, but wrote it for 75. It was like 1130 on sunday night and i just wanted to get home considering i had to be up at 5 for work. I got lucky the guy was cool, could have been way worse. Who else got tickets this weekend?

Guys,
I spoke to this young man after about his antics and let him know that he screwed us all... if we do another event, we will need to pay for more police cause of his actions... unfortunately, we couldn't do anything about him in the street. You guys should've shut him down and let him that this shit was not appreciated or acceptable at SS.

On the Irvine PD, they have always been cool with us at SS-8 and never really sweated anyone, regardless of noise, antics or anything... but I was in agreement with Gary to ask them to up the actions later in the afternoon.

I am sorry one of you guys paid for the stupid actions of others... again if we do this again hopefully we can ALL work as a team and let folks know that this crap shouldn't be done!

Thanks all for coming out!!!

Guys, please let him know in a polite way. I did talk to him, there at the event, and I think he understood he goofed. He was understanding of everything I told him, and didn't give me a bad attitude or anything. But, maybe they might appreciate it also if they heard from a few enthusiast also.

Bern,

I hate to say it but this is bullshit. Every year I have been there, the police have done the same thing. They wait for people to leave, and then write tickets. I was one of the people who fell victim to this at Sevenstock 5.

I think they do a fine job otherwise, but I do find it in extremely poor taste for them to wait for show participants to leave just to hand out tickets. Reminds me of ambulance chasing lawyers. Easy pickings I guess.

As far as the mazdapolluter, I think we, as a group, are stuck with idiots like that. It is just part of the scene, unfortunately. Not all of them buy Hondas. :rlaugh:

Sorry to hear it Dave, but I think they must have been profiling when they got you.... looking for big white dudes in FD from with TEXAS plates. I heard FUMAN put out a ABB on you!! I think they were waiting for you! :rlaugh:

In any case, the BS that happens during the event makes it harder and more expensive for us to pull the permit every year.

The truth is very "few" get tagged, but the PD could really kill our event, if they started getting everyone with PERIF, BRIDGES, LOUD EXHAUST, etc... in the mornings. They don't, and we continue on... if they were dicks, we'd be out of business. So, I still say that they've been cool!

That is his new paint job... its the stealth look, with a touch of too-cheap-for-carbonfiber-but-wants-to-look-like-a-racer thrown in for good measure.

J-Rat 10-11-05 10:37 AM

Damn...

I hope I didnt piss the cops off when I hit the 2-step a few times in the courtyard.. I wont do that again next year..

Cybaster 10-12-05 08:51 PM

dude... what yard are you talking about?!?!?

mazdapolluter was in the main parking lot, because he was there early enough... that's it! What time did you get there? If you came late, you missed out... parking in the main-lot is about two things... being there early, and being able to stay put until 2:00pm!! That's it...

Cybaster 10-12-05 09:06 PM

9AM =D

Ok ok i'll try to be there 7AM sharp next time then =)

J-Rat 10-12-05 11:12 PM

Ummm.. He got into the courtyard before I did, and I was there a FULL HOUR before he came tearing around...

Loaded8 10-13-05 01:16 AM

Sorry about the tickets. While I was wandering around I was thinking about how the city could make a few extra bucks if they went through and ticketed everyone without a front plate (and that would just be the start of it!!). I didn't think anyone was outrageously loud or anything (except for polluter setting off the car alarms, thankfully I wasn't anywhere nearby or I'd be deaf now). :(

Cybaster 10-13-05 04:38 PM

luckily i got my front plate (stupid DMV make me pay 17 bucks AND 10 bucks fix ticket... that cost MORE than not getting my front plate and paying the original 25...)

Anyone take the time to look at the Mazdapolluter website? I wouldnt let these guys work on a lawnmower. I love the part that they are currently experimenting with rotary engines :rlaugh: I am anxiously waiting to see what their R&D department discovers on 86 to 88. I wonder how much a Mazda Polluter Primer job costs? Maybe we can can get a group buy?
