To original question - yes the drum axles and GSL axles are the same so you can swap them

Aeenox: As for putting drum axles in a SE housing - yes they will fit, but the lug pattern is obviously...

^Correct, all 84/85 housings have the same spline/bearing size so the axles are all interchangeable. You would have to fab retainers, and a bracket to use disk brakes, but the axles themselves work...

The large Black/yellow wire you have shown there goes to the spade connector on the top of the starter solenoid. Whatever that mess is on your starter now (in your first pic) I would just remove then...

It's quite simple and works well for a street car. I'm planning to go with T2 front calipers at some point on my street car, but really "just because" - I don't really need it for the type of driving...
