South FL Casual Meet
 

wanted to see if anyone is interested in doing Miami/Ft Lauderdale area casual gathers. I just quit my job to work on my own web business and now have the time to meet with other rotary owners and do some networking. :)

I would like to start a rotary blog by taking pictures of everyones car from South Flo on each meet and post them here. Who would like to attend and what would be a good time for everyone who would be interested:

first, mid or end of the month?:scratch:

Also if there is already a casual meet set up, I apologize, but could you share the info with me.

please take this as constructive critizism. i am not trying to bash you and acutally commend your efforts.

i would suggest that you set a definate time, date and place. if not, this thread will be filled with suggestions and it will never get anywhere. all you will have is a bunch of excuses of why someone can't make it and why a certain place is too far. as for the date, weekends is best, since many of us are slaves during the week. i have found that saturdays works best becasue most people want to be with family on sundays. as for the place, a race track would be my recommendation. countyline, homestead or morosso. most rotary guys are not going to show up if you are just going to hang out in some parking lot. morosso is next weekend. there is a couple of us going up and you are welcome to join in the caravan.

i have heard that the old flanigans on US1 is having a rotary meet. i want to say its the second tuesday of the month but not sure. anyways when you have all the details let us know. there are plenty of guys looking to get together!!!

this would be something interesting but ^has a point name place and time and date best place would be pbir/countyline or homestead or even any auto x event

One very nice place I would like to suggest is Black Point Ocean Grill by Cutler Bay (West of Monkey Jungle), great safe laid back place for taking drinks, food, photo/video with great scenarios. Not to mention plenty of parking and a just in case for street racers, a 2 street lane that stretches 4 miles in length, nothing on the sides, in case some want to do runs. Also haven't seen cops set speed traps there and thats were I go to red line my FD without fear of anything cuz there is nothing unless you see it coming in the stretch. (look at attached img)

I know it might be a bit south for many here but it is straight off from the turnpike and it is just a really great area. I live in Kendall and thats were I go to chill. I got for football/basketball games and UFC fights there. Best fucking place where everyone just goes to have a good time and no one messes with you. Also for you guys not to get confused, club house could be another alternative if yall want enclosed AC room with TV & internet. Many choices in this location.

Just so that you guys know.. A couple of us get together over here by Hollywood. Go out to US27 & Sheridan.. Post up for a while see if we cant run a couple of times.. then we take off and go on a cruise on the Highway....(US27 to the 836, South to 112.. 112 to 95, 95 to 395.. to South Beach. After that we get back on the 395 west.. to 95 north. to Davie Blvd.. to the Tunnel. Last weekend we were out till almost three in the morning. We raced a Lambo Gallardo, couple of bikes, Ferrari 360 modena, all on the highway in the wee hours of the morning. We ended the night @ The Henry tunnel in Ft.Lauderdale racing with a 2010 Skyline GTR... Here is the link... If you guys want we can start cruising every other weekend... nice CUBA6942! sounds like something we can schedule. Lets see if more people are willing to meet up.

:icon_no2: i donno how you feel about it but racing on the street is pretty irresponsible. Not to mention all the repercussions that it brings with it like problems with the law, getting arrested, license suspended, lawyer fees and most important and worst of all: the fact that people can get hurt and die. Most of the time is the bystanders who get hurt... I know there is a huge adrenaline rush but it is simply not worth it...
If that is what you like.. then is all you... But the racing should stay at the track. just my 2 cents...

Now back to the post theme: a meet would be good... The track is open every Friday @ homestead, countyline as well and on saturdays if Im not mistaken.... If you just want to find a place to hang out thats fine too... I meet on Saturdays @ 6 with a group of guys from the 350Z forum ( i have a 350Z Roadster) We meet @ the starbucks on pines (west of 75). more Z than any other type of car but is open to whomever wants to go there are other cars that go as well...

^^^ Never got off the subject. We need to do something like the wangan runs. Has any body been to the Autobahn meet South US 27 past 75?? Shit is crazy.
