Sandblasting in Birmingham
Can anyone in the Birmingham area recomend a company that can sandblast a set of wheels?
I have a set of '91 5-stars that I need cleaned up before I mount the Hooser race rubber. Any Ideas how much it would cost to have 4 wheels blased on both sides? |
What size wheels?
I'm 30 min. out of Nashville, and could do them for ya for cheap. PM me if your interested. -Alex |
a place off of hwy. 79 in Tarrant did mine a few years back. Engine Rebuilders used a glass bead blaster that left a really nice finished product. Really easy to paint/polish. E.R. is only listed now in Trussville (655-3777) but I don't know if this is the same place. The old # from the old business card that I have is 849-0530. Hope this helps.

The guy that agreed to do them for $25 each said that you can't use normal "sand" media on aluminum alloy and that he would have to use baking soda blasting media. |
The cost of baking soda is high because it is only sprayed through one time.Other media can go through several times .The cheepest metering valve for soda that I found for my cabinet was $ 2500 .So $ 25 per wheel bothsides may not be a bad deal .One hundred dollars plus tax or buy the cabinet you want for ? and have it to use .I would buy the cabinet for future use . I have one and it gets used more than you can guess .Allways invest in tools .
