I wasn't totally out, as long as I wasn't pulling alot of gs there was enough gas for it to run and It worked out in the end, I was able to coast all the way back to the motorcycle resort for some gas, and here is the fun part, I kept up with a sport bike headed that way eventhough I was coasting!!!!!!

I dont think he was going all out though.

Any of you guys have a S3 left front strut assembly? I just got all my suspension apart to install my koni's, all to find out my left front assembly has been replaced at some point with an earlier model that is a 1/4" too short! I really want to make it to this next ogta meet!

If you were still into FC's, I'd have plenty of strut assemblies that would work

Oh Brett, you should not have said that ^. Be prepared for the obligatory comment about how that's what FCs are good for, spare parts. 8^)

I saw a thread somewhere showing how to make a really nice pogo stick using an FC strut assembly.

You didnt just get that car recently, did you? And if so, did you buy it from a guy named Miguel in Norcross?

Brett, I would install a tee into your main line connecting it to your return line. When the car is off it allows the pressure/fuel to bleed back into the tank. Mazda trix sells them or you can make one. If you make one keep it real small so when running the path it want to take it to the fuel rails/injectors but when off will bleed down.
Its a temp fix that I used a long time ago on a FC for more than two years.

You could band-aid it for a bit by putting a kill switch on the fuel pump positive wire and **** the car off by turning the fuel pump off till it dies. This eliminates all the pressure sitting on the injectors while the car sits. To crank it, turn the key to get the motor spinning and then turn the pump back on via the switch.

Billy, I am real interested in this "**** the car off " if you can explain in more detail! Ha ha

If I remember right the old school fix was to put a nut in the bottom of the housing before installing the strut. Billy might can shed more light on this. If not I might have one around here and will be in GA in a few weeks for a few days.

The problem is the strut housing is too short for the insert. Putting a washer in the bottom would just make it worse. The passenger side strut housing is 15" and the driver side one is 14.75". If you have one, would you be willing to ship it? I need it asap as my car stuck on jack stands until I get one.

I got it back in January from a guy named Tom in Alpharetta. The car has 96K original miles and has a Mariah front bumper.

We had an impromptu OGTA meet on the Friday run of the Cherohala Skyway at DGRR. A little rain didn't
change the fun factor.

Next Tuesday is the May OGTA meet. The weather should be good. Hopefully we'll see a bunch of rotaries out there and one Flipper.
