The clog could be in the hardlines between the pickup and the pump. I would do like Crit says and test the pump by pumping from jug to jug. If it passes, then it is time to drop the tank and inspect the pickup tube and the screen.

Another possibility could be pinholes in the pickup tube allowing air to be pulled into the system.

For pumps, I have had good luck with either Airtex or Bosch.

Can't remember right now. On the 12As, do the lug bolts thread into the rotor itself, or do they pass through the rotor and thread into something else? Trying to decide which loctite I need for studs. Red would be nice, but if I have to break them loose to change rotors, that could be fun.

I think the 12A rotors are integral to the hub. Still, you'll want to use red locktite, only because you REALLY don't want them to come loose. On I-75. Ask me how I know.

I used Gorilla studs from CBPerformance.com (air-cooled VW's had the same lug bolts)

I think I remember that one .

Oddly enough I was going to order them from amazon. They have the full line. It seems like the 1.75" ones may not be long enough, so I was going to get the 2.25".

Thought I remembered it that way.

I agree that the red loctite is the way to go. Any extra $18 for new studs (if I have to) every time I change rotors isn't going to kill me like a wheel coming off might.

Next item, centering rings. I thinking of these things AFTER I have the wheels on. Kind of forget about them once they are on, even after spending 30 minutes per wheel to mount them.

Hey Tim, remember that you won't need the centering rings once you're studded. Once you've got it on the studs, you won't need an centering. At least not as long as you use conical-seat nuts like 95% of what you'll find on the shelves. By the way, get 5 extra nuts - Billy needs 'em.

Eh, the centering rings can still help line it up better Crit. It's not necessary, but it can help lessen vibration. But since I don't have the wheels balanced, I guess that wouldn't matter.

Didn't see your post until after I ordered everything this morning .

Hey, if anyone's looking for a solid GSL-SE or knows someone who is, point them my way. I'll take pics at the lakehouse and make an official post, but she's for sale.

I'll have to think about it. I've got one suggestion from a good source that it may fetch around $3,500 with a full maintenance history and build/debug thread. I'll have to do some looking before I decide on a good number, though.

Build thread is HERE.

Love to see that car again Billy, can't believe you let her go.

Maybe she'll have a paint job this time?

Angel, it'll be good to meet you. You can get instructions and a list of stuff we need HERE. We just lost the good refrigerator and lots of folks have stepped up with ice, so that should be covered. If you can bring some snacky stuff, like chips and dip, veggies, soft drinks, etc. that might be good.

If anyone else out there is reading along and thinks this is an invitation-only thing, it's not. Last year we had a couple of vacationing Canadians drop in that were staying across the lake, and they had a great time.

Of course, if you can bring the RX-3 out, that would be sweet.

excellent. and bring the 3. i think i might know u but not sure if ur who i think u r.

edit: o i get it now. ur the one that bought the 3.

still up in the air about me making it tho. since my son has started living with me it's costing lots more money now, especially in gas taking him to school every morning. i told him we'd go this weekend to get him some more clothes for 2 trips he's going on in a couple weeks.

really stinks all these ppl got 3's and i can't find one to save my life, at lease close enough that i can afford anyways.

Likewise Angel, I look forward to meeting the new owner of the 3 (and seeing that car again).

Bring your son to the Lake House Michael, he'll love it, a great and memorable father/son outing. We'd like to meet him!
