And are you doing this swap yourself or are you paying to have it done?

Sounds like Collin is looking for a job. He's experienced and works cheap.

Colin, do it yourself. Seriously. Or else. Use 2" steel channel.

Make sure when you get your transmission that you get the manual crossmember with it. You can live without it, but it's handy to use the steel bushing as a spacer and the alternative is a stack of washers....

The downside is, 2 of them really attract police attention..... Brother and I had several turn around and follow us last night.

So my mother's boyfriend totally swapped transmissions in my car. He's a bit of a backyard mechanic, but we got it done right and everything. I couldn't get a pilot bearing anywhere, so handy dandy Collin let me buy the one he had I used my old TOB since I got a clutch kit installed a while back. And I got a new clutch disc since my crappy duralast one was trying to slip. And I cleaned up a few exhaust shields and put in a few bolts that had fallen out... It took us all day, but we took breaks and had to drive to meet Collin and to get gear oil and what not. Fun fun.

I've got a little video of the horrible noise my old transmission made too... I was bored and tried getting a picture of the odometer hitting 255,555. Anyways-

Negative. The previous owner was having a hell of a time getting it running, but he had cut the factory ECU harness and wired in a megasquirt. The engine was JUST rebuilt, and he couldn't get it running. The dizzy wasn't tight, so who knows where his timing was, and the megasquirt wiring was nasty. Maybe it worked, but it looked nasty and no connections were very good.

After much searching, I found my spare ECU harness, so I may be able to put the EFI and ignition back to stock and have a sweet little runner.

Crit, could you translate? Did you buy a new SE or what? If so, details and pics?

So, thought about putting the FD back together today and hit snag #1 right off. We cut off one of the rubber fuel lines during removal. Figured it was better to replace. Went to autozone, was given 3/8" (9.5 mm) line. I now realize it should be 5/16. Bah!
