Old guys with 12As club meeting
Thanks Tim. Nope, that's an earlier Nikki that went into the silver 85 GSL.
Here's the one that's in the LE, came with the car, a rare Virgin Nikki - note the factory cap over the mixture screw:
And yes, I'd love to come up to DGRR and help you guys put your home brew to good use!
I'll be there for sure if and when Donald Trump is indicted, impeached, fired or quits, which I fully expect to happen soon.
Wouldn't want to miss an opportunity to celebrate with you guys!

Very nice looking carb btw, got to admit i'm even a little jelous. My 12a really needs one of those real bad.
I was just kidding about the 13" X wheels Dmitri, the magnesium in those wheels has been known to catch fire when run on anything with more than 150 hp.
But those FD wheels that tytemf5 has sounds like they could do the trick, especially if FC and FD have the same bolt pattern.
Also, thanks for the compliments on the carbs, nothing prettier than a pretty Nikki.
I did those two with all top shelf parts, the yellow cadmium is especially hard to reproduce.
But I have others and if you already have a decent Nikki core I could rebuild it for you, $25 for the GP Sorensen rebuild kit:
https://www.autozone.com/fuel-delive...60809_585427_0
And $75 for the 4-5 hours it takes me to tear them down, clean the parts real well and assemble.
$150 without the core. For friends only! No Trump voters!

Have you ever looked into getting parts re-coated with cadmium? I saw a BMW guy do it on an E30 resto and the parts looked great. It was a legit recoating, not a cadmium like paint. I'd like to do all the little stuff under the FC's hood someday. Bling bling.
I hope it's true this time Collin, you've announced a couple times over the last few years that you're returning to Georgia but then you didn't show up. It will be good to see you and the FC!
Brett I did more than look into electroplating the Nikki parts, I watched a bunch of utube videos, bought a couple electroplating books and all the pure metals I need for cadmium, chrome, zinc and nickel electroplating. I even set up a cell and did a test run with zinc, which kind of worked.
But half way through I realized that shiny new electroplated parts defeat the purpose, what you really want is shiny new original 30 year old electroplated parts!
Priceless!

Bit of a change of plans.. one 26 foot uhaul and a 12 foot trailer are not enough! So getting a 20 foot uhaul for me to drive towing the rx7 behind it.

I've suggested that to them multiple times over the years, but they insist on uhaul. Parents are the ones paying for all of us to move, so it's their call.
Not thrilled about towing my car 1200 miles on a uhaul auto transporter.. the tires don't give me that warm fuzzy feeling. Kinda doubt they really check wheel bearings or shackles etc either, so... wish me luck. Gonna be a nervewracking drive. At least I'll have my ferret for company

I'm with Tim on this one, Penske all the way. Uhaul will be a disaster second only to Donald Trump.
But hey, it's your parent's fault, right?
When I moved from Amherst to New Orleans back in the '90's I rented a 26 foot Penske and a car carrier for my '78 MGB:
https://www.pensketruckrental.com/su...t/car-carrier/
Truck and carrier together we were longer than the semi trucks, I couldn't believe they let me drive that thing without a commercial license.
But I sure did feel cool cruising with the Big Boys. I'll post a pic if I can find it.
P.S. The Penske was a brand new unit, performed perfectly all 1,500 miles, good gas mileage.
Ask me about my Uhaul experiences.
Collin when you get here bring your ferret over so it can meet our rat Moe.

Scary tow? Try pulling a 6000# sail boat with your Dakota on a rickety old makeshift trailer made from old mobile home axles... I'm still amazed I haven't died. LOL

Well, we are leaving in the morning. Should be interesting lol
We ended up needing not only the 26 footer, but a 20 footer as well. So I'm driving the 20 footer towing my car, and my dad is taking the 26 footer towing a 10 or 12 foot trailer.

That looks like my backyard the last time I used Uhaul Paul.
I sure hope Collin gets here in one piece, especially over those mountains.
FC's don't sell for much up there in hill country.

Watkinsville. We are 200 miles out now, but mom is struggling to stay awake. Hopefully my little brothers ex will drive her the rest of the way, otherwise we will have to stop for the night.
Welcome Home Collin!
Tim the cider is tempting but it's not looking good for DGRR this year.
We are too busy working on Trump's impeachment proceedings and finding ways to punish Republicans who are too cowardly to call him out for his unethical behavior.
But things should be better next year, once these threats to American Democracy are removed from office.
