There was a meet this past Tuesday at the Mall of GA Taco Mac. Next one is Tueday April 3rd at the same spot, 6:30/7 PM ish.

There will be a meet sometime next week at the Johns Creek Taco Mac, it will be on either Monday or Wednesday around 7 PM. Look up the Facebook group 'Dinner and Doritos' to get the info.

I fixed my irons with some JB weld and an old apex seal spring today. I'll be ready for DGRR for sure.

Ray you are the rotary god prophet; what did I do to displease them so much that I had three cracks in my irons?!?

On a side note, anybody know where they would classify this port job? Street port, large street port, or whatever. I didn't do it but it looked nice last time i was in the engine so I left it alone.

I did it about 5 or so years ago on my 6 port engine. 30 some thousand miles and then I sold the car and it never leaked. When I did it on that engine I used a side seal. Side seals need to be ground down to be thin enough. The apex seal springs are malleable and they are the right thickness worked way better.

I just can't get over how much rotary engines have skyrocketed in price over the past 5 years. I mean what happened??? Mazda quits making the RX8 and everybody looses their f ing minds. $300 for an iron... ONE IRON?!? I bought an engine with a pair of turbos for $200 4 years ago.

Ok, I have that one beat. A few years ago I got a 12A that was rebuilt with a full Atkins kit with 83 internals and 82 flywheel for $75.00. It had a bolt dropped in it right after the rebuild that chip a small part of the exhaust opening on exit and it also didn't seal up good. The owner was just tired of dealing with it and sold it. I'll be porting it and building a new engine from those parts in the future.

If thats the case Ray is sitting on a gold mine!

That was a very creative use of JB Weld and apex springs James, very nice!

Don’t worry, the Rotary Gods were only testing you, like Moses on the Mount.

In those rusted and pitted housings you have seen the Face of Felix.

And it was Good.

The Rotary Gods have forgiven you, travel to DGRR in Peace and with Love in your Heart.

Tim it is True, I do have a Rotary Gold Mine in my shed, a Rotary God Treasure Chest of Wonders.

12A’s Galore. Rotors to make you drool. Housings to die for.

There’s one fine pair of 12A housings, perfect chrome, but the customary pitted water channels.

Prime candidates for James’ JB Weld Apex Seal Spring Repair Procedure!

Dean and his son Brandon plan to use this pair for a 12A rebuild using all recycled parts except the soft seals.

A Practice Build, you could say. For Free.

It will be the first Solo for all of us. Dean will then race the 12A to test our work.

Those are just Teasers you guys, there’s lots more that’s Top Secret.

But here’s one Nugget I can share with y’all for now:

As President and as a Person, I give Donald Trump a D- compared to a warm pile of cow dung.

Most people give Donald Trump an F compared to similar piles of excrement.

But I give Donald Trump a D- because of his success with **** Stars.

Maybe even a D because he doesn’t care about the environment.

Which is a good thing for us Rotor Heads.

PS, as far as that Port goes James, I'd say that's a LARGE port:

What do the exhaust ports look like?

They were extended but I used another pair of housings last time I stuck the engine together. I ported the new housings to match. I'd say I took about 3mm off both opening and closing on the exhaust side to get it to match the old housings.

The car does MOVE with this engine when running. All feed by a weee Nikki and S4 turbo.

Like the door seals? I typically buy the stuff from RA, but they don't last too long. I think next time I'll just cough up the money for the stuff from Mazdatrix.

Here you go Martin, these Metro LM107 units are Rotary God Certified and OGTA tested:

https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=920188&cc=1192261&jsn=346

$65.89 plus shipping from RockAuto.

Also available from Amazon, as Tim pointed out:

Amazon Amazon

Try to limit your use of rubber cement for sealing the flat surfaces, just enough to keep them tacked in place.

Then if you need to recycle them to another FB it's easy to peel them off and reinstall on the new project.

I have a pair that have been on three different FBs so far.

Mazdatrix FTW. It might cost a bit of coin, but think about it this way; you won't need it again for 30+ years.

I have the interior almost stripped from one of my GSL-SEs. I am going to put it all in another GSL-SE.

Looks like James is right about Mazdatrix, looks like the best price for OEM 8871-58-781 outer door seals at $21.78, but you need to add shipping:

Cart Price Check Part:58-7810-8871

Atkins has them as well for three cents less:

https://www.atkinsrotary.com/store/7...71-58-781.html

And you can get them on ebay for a bit more ($25) but free shipping:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-8871-58-781-Door-Window-Belt-Weatherstrip-Seal-Outer-Molded-Rubber-for-RX7/311655802222?fits=Year%3A1985%7CMake%3AMazda%7CMod el%3ARX-7%7CSubmodel%3AGSL%7CEngine+-+Liter_Display%3A1.1L%7CTrim%3AGSL+Coupe+2-Door%7CEngine%3A1.1L+1146CC+R2+GAS+Naturally+Aspir ated&epid=1317794649&hash=item489022256e:g:3UAAAOS wjKFZS7EZ&vxp=mtr

Mazdatrix has the sunroof seal at $48.36:

Cart Price Check Part:62-805B-8970

So does Atkins for about the same price:

https://www.atkinsrotary.com/store/7...0-62-805B.html

Also I have a spare sun roof seal in good shape you can have, let me know and I'll get it in the mail.

Is this for the red SE? Looks like you are making Progress!

Mazdatrix is amazing. They have saved my *** for random parts in the past. Fast shipping, but they like to charge you a ton for shipping. I NEEDED the little corner button rubber seals this past weekend. I turned to Mazdatrix and opted for the Priority shipping. Mazdatrix doesn't quote you on shipping, but I didn't have a choice so I was willing to pay whatever. BUT DAUM they charged me $30 for priority shipping on a $10 order.

SO long story short great parts availability fast shipping, but you're gonna pay.

I can buy Mazda parts directly from Mazda through Mazda Motorsports because I autocross. The prices significantly lower than Mazdatrix, Atkins, etc.
