Thanks Brett, they're both works in progress.

But the good news is that I like working on them even more than driving them when they're done.

And we really really appreciate those pretty TJ wheels you gave us, they're perfect.

Thanks for the compliment on the exhaust note on the LE Tim!

I agree, the TW12A piped through that brand new RB exhaust is a sound to behold.

For those of you who haven't tried it yet, play that youtube video with the sound turned up loud:

I was hoping to go to DGRR this year, it would be good to see you guys, but I'm having second thoughts with all the crap going on.

Trump and the deplorables who support him are literally destroying our country, day after day after day.

Today Trump wants "his" FBI to investigate Obama for something, doesn't matter what, anything will do, as retribution for the ongoing investigations into his collusion with the Russians to undermine American democracy. Heavy stuff.

And since it seems likely there will be at least a few deplorables at DGRR, I think I'll be sitting this one out.

Maybe next year.

Come on out Ray. You know you need to replenish your stash of Tims mead (cider). Its extra special this year, higher gravity and aged on oak, Mmmmm good! Cathy would love it.

You don't have to commit right now but keep it in mind.

Thanks Tim, the Home Brew sounds good, it always is.

But right now I'm really hurting.

Right now I'm watching the friends and parents of the 14 teenagers and 3 teachers that got murdered by an AR-15 in Florida last week tell Donald Trump how it is.

Right now I'm really angry at those people who think their "right" to own guns is more important than the lives those guns take every day, every week, every year..

These people have blood on their hands. The NRA and the people who support them have blood on their hands.

What has become of our country?

Some dude is arguing right now that we can't stop the school shootings, so the answer is to heavily arm the teachers and janitors to stop the action quickly when it starts.

Dip ****.

But if Trump can fix this, I'll be there.

Ray, really? It's one thing to be passionate and be entitled to your opinion, but do you *ever* stop playing agent provocateur?

There's no sense in crying over spilt milk.. the guns are out there, and they're not going away. You really think your 'laws' will be effective at keeping them out of the hands of evil people who would use them to commit terrible acts of evil? No.. but they'll keep them out of the hands of good, honest citizens that might be able to save lives.

Oh sure, you'll always have those idiots trying to walk around town like their dick is tucked into their sock and an assault rifle slung over their shoulder, and that's not okay. But again.. gun control laws, gun free zones, or the deluded idea that we can somehow take all the guns away will absolutely not stop the evil from obtaining a firearm and walking into a school, post office, government building, grocery store, car dealership or even your cousin vinny's and shooting up the place.

I really want to but I've got this super weird vibration thing going on.

At 4k and above when under high load the car shakes like you wouldn't believe. I've tried replacing the driveshaft and trans mount, but that didn't solve jack. I guess I should try the left front motor mount as it is good and oily looking.

I'm actually using that drive shaft you gave me so many years ago. lol

Robert, the SA is looking good, you should have it ready for DGRR with time to spare.

And it’s always a good idea to take the skin off an SA when it turns 40 and clean up the joints.

I hope you guys are recovering well from that gas explosion, let us know if we can help.

Paul I can help with the J-109, please PM me an address I’ll get it in the mail.

I finally got the brake job on the Jeep done, all new rotors, calipers and pads in front:

New cylinders, shoes and drums in back:

Plus Brett’s machined TJ wheels and the 10.5 x 31 Goodyear AT’s to give it that Jurassic Park Look:

And the mailman brought 1” lift kits for the body and engine from Daystar today, should make it look even more Jeepy.

Also the LE brakes are finished, same treatment as the Jeep front and back except I reused the rotors:

She’s ready to roll!:

Ray,that car is beautiful, you've showed it a lot of love. Would like to see it in person someday. Many years ago i kept an identical Le to yours maintained for an older gentleman, garage kept,30k some miles on it. As he got to point where he could no longer drive it,i would take him for rides in it. Used to go every month or so,take car out and put 10-20 miles on it to keep it fresh as he said. I don't think he ever let any of his grandkids drive the car, when he passed away i inquired as to the disposition of the car and was told it was given to the grandson. About three months after that i got a call from the old man's daughter asking if i could or knew anyone that did bodywork as her son had rear ended someone. Kind of made me feel like a longtime friend had been hurt...do not know whatever became of the car. Looking at yours brings back memories of working on and driving the old man's car-with him as a passenger.

Dang Mike, I'm getting to that age myself when I could use someone to take me out for a ride every week or two.

And I got no kids to inherit it and smash it up so I'll be looking for other options.

Let me know if you want to go for a drive.

And thanks for the compliments on the LE!

I hear you've been under the weather lately. Are things getting better?

Are you going to DGRR this year?

Ray, AR doesn’t stand for “assault rifle” it’s the first letters of the name of the company that invented it. Also, an AR or any other fire arm for that matter does not “murder” people. People murder people. I don’t own any firearms nor have I ever fired a hand gun in my life. I fired a 22 with a scope once and it’s the same caliber as an AR15. These rifles “look” like special forces stuff but are far from it. Get rid of every AR 15 on the planet and you’ll still have these things occurring. Look, I’ve been vocal and nearly lost your friendship over it. I don’t want any of that going forward so I’ll kust say this. Put it away for one or two days and I swear I’ll not make one political comment nor will I engage. The Dragon is my destiny since I didn’t gat to drive it last year. AND!! Come on over to our cabin and share a beer or more and let’s play a game if 8 ball on the pool table in my cabin!!! All of you guys and gals should take me up on that. Also, I want to see that scrumptious LE in person. You did a fantastic job on it. My mouth waterith over!! From your video I’d say I’d be happy to take you for a drive too!! Looked like you might be a bit rusty on the clutch (lol)!! Anyway mine is still awaiting a tube of thermal paste to come from Amazon Monday so I can install those igniters properly. Mike GSLSEFORME has been a Rotary God with his moment by moment cell help and God love him for it. As for the igniters I already got two today. I also got my new Moog idler arm and a new fuel filter this week. Water pump is next after the igniters!!! DGRR here I come!!!!! 2nd last year maybe 1st this year!!! I got the nicest “survivor” FB on the road today!!

I'm all registered for DGRR and paid up on my cabin spot with Tommy.

Looking forward to seeing ALL of you, including you Ray. My new hooch will knock your socks off, I've been testing it

I have a clutch to do and a vibration in the drivetrain (your not alone James) to track down. Thinking its a bent wheel or axle but I haven't performed an autopsy yet.

The bad vibes were the water pump. I haven't even test drove it yet, but I'm almost 100%. The old wp had about 45 degrees of play in it. I don't know how it was still staying on the engine. Its funny because it only started leaking a few days ago, but the vibrations have been there since the beginning of January.

Exactly why I’m replacing my water pump now at 121k and 33 years. No problem now but just waiting to happen . Besides it’d probably give out on me on a lonely drive way at DGRR 2018. Not this time. It’ll be a new one for this trip.

I'm gonna come up, but with a fresh engine. My dowel pin is leaking, but I've already ordered the rebuild kit.

I'm just hoping its the dowel pin seal and not the rear iron. As its an S5 block and I know Mazda had issues with the casting of the rear irons. Worst case scenario I get a new S5 rear iron and port it to match my existing port job.
