Old guys with 12As club meeting

I had a Peugeot 404 like that, the floor pans always rust out on the passenger side first because of the salt on the side of the road.
One time I hit some slushy snow and my poor dog Melon, who was lying on the passenger's seat, got covered by a bucket of cold wet salty slush.
You should have seen the way she looked at me.
My Civic never did rust out for some reason, it just kept going and going.
I only quit driving it when I got a sweet little '78 MGB.
I never had a car that gave so much for so little trouble, not even the FB's.

Back around 1988 I bought an old Civic like that from a coworker for $400.00. Tina told me it was junk
and didn't want anything to do with it. It ran like puke when I got it. Went to the JY and got a carbie off
a junker and swapped that in (cause those carbs were really finicky to open up and hope to get
running again). Tuned it up and it ran like stink.
It was a really fun car to drive around even if it was slow. Used it for a winter and then the front shock
towers gave way on my way home from the airport in the snow in Pittsburgh. Seems it was a wee bit
rusty. Only thing keeping it going was the hood staying latched and holding the shocks from coming all
the way up through the towers. It was a sad day to see it towed off to the same JY I got the carb from.

My problem with the 75 CVCC was shocks as well, except the rears this time.
Every time you hit a bump the dang car wanted to put you through the roof.
I got used to it, never did take a look back there to see what had happened.
Dang I miss that car.

When my ghia's points bit the dust last week I drove my friend's civic to and fro work.... I gotta say that a civic is the most bland boring uninspiring ride on this planet.
Don't care how reliable they are; it'll be a cold day in hell when I purchase a Honda product that doesn't have the Honda wing emblem on it.

Thank god for boosted rotaries. I was almost side swiped again yesterday by some certifiable moron in a chevy avalanche !
Anyone ever had play in their front struts masquerading as bad wheel bearings?

Interesting wheels.
Project for sure. Cool thing about the Ghia as apposed to the RX7 is you can actually find EVERY part you'll ever need for it.

It's been waaay too long since I've been out to a meet, but I'm going to come out tonight, even if I have to bring my boinger. Still meet up at Taco Mac, Mall of Georgia @ 7PM?
