NEED HELP - Looking for a great body shop!

Hey guys,

I've finally got to the point that I can spend the money on the FD to get the body straightened out.

I live in Montgomery, AL area. I have no idea who around is the best for doing FD body work. My guess is maybe there's a specialty body shop in Atlanta. I'm looking for FD specialists, or sports car / import specialists. I have a truck and trailer, so towing it a couple hundred miles is no problem.

Money IS an object, but I'm not going to skimp a few hundred to a couple thousand for a local joe-schmoe who doesn't know jack about FD's.

Suggestions are appreciated! Thanks.

PS - I am interested in buying a stock hood, stock front end, and the bumper beam for the front end. I would just give those parts to the body shop. I would imagine buying these parts from somebody on here and providing them would better than the body shop buying them and having to mark them up. Thanks again. Oh yeah, a little back ground, it was crashed a long time ago by the previous owner who didn't have it repaired properly, so now I'm taking care of it.

JyRo,

Welcome to the world of the FD money pits!

I would imagine that this question will be moved by a moderator to the Southeast Region forum. I am sure someone there could give you recommendations on a body shop that meets your needs.

Best of luck

r71 owns Kong's Body Shop in Atlanta. Very good, but do not expect cheap. You get what you pay for. That said, he is the only one that touches any of my cars or bikes.

first off a body shop is a body shop. so that being said just get a local shop someone like pauls. they have frame equipment so if it were more than just cosmetic.

but no body shop i know will let you buy the parts and bring them in.
my better half was hit by someone with no insurance and it was paid for so we only had liablity insurance so i started buying bodykit radiator support fenders blablabla.
when i got to the several bodyshops for a quote they all told me to send the parts back.

but if your paying for it and its not a insurance claim maybe.
they wouldnt for me so i ended up doing the work myself with a buddie of mine that ownes his own bodyshop in ga.

good luck and maybe we could have a meet in montgomery.

long drown out but you get the point.
just make sure you tell them anything special about the car if any so nothing happens.

right down the mileage.

Guys, I know it been a hell of a long time since I replied. Thanks for the info. Bryant, I'd love to have a meet up.

I bought this car with front end damage and an engine not running right. But I'd love to have a car to compare with (to get mine str8).

I'll PM you.
