I won't be leaving the rotary world forever. My very first car was an NA so I was hooked from the start. I will just have to go a couple of years without one.

Ive got that 88 that is practically gutted, but the wiring harness's are there, then i have chris's 86(7) with a great body and interior....but had an engine fire so the wiring is toast...
neither car has a working engine, nor trans, but the rest is all there between the two.

 

Anyone else listen to HANK III??? or am I the only one here??

does anybody have any used racing beat cat back exhaust or tips? 171 decibles is alittle loud for street and im about to get mine taged and on the road.

its na. need to get it up and on the street. my other car is on its last leg and i need to park it so i can start building it. i just need to get it alittle more quite so i can drive it for a bit. id like to sell my nova and get something to drive daily or a bike but i am kinda **** outta luck on everything

 

Damn cody... and yes that exhaust is goddamn ******* loud... I mean mines loud but ****, you could beat open headered drag cars for loud, in fact just get an open hunk of pipe and see if thats any quieter...

 

You should probably just go to a muffler shop for a quick fix. If you don't have any leaks, just get a couple new mufflers. That should hold until you can save up the money for a performance system.

 

While I was swapping my tranny I had my exhaust off from manifold down. Let's just say I think people in the next county could hear it.

 

Well for some reason the cops around here think I have a loud exhuast. On the blue car I have the full racing beat system and with FA18's flying overhead the cops said he could hear me 1/2 mile away. So I could only imagine open headers!!!

 

I think the cop's were just hassling you man, full RB setups are no louder than an older corvette with the side exit exhaust. In fact I have personally heard louder harley's than my current setup, and I even think an open RB header is quieter than most "Hog's"

 

yea i was hoping to keep intact i love the sound its just too damn loud and i need too do somethin with it soon. but every muffler shop around here wants to rape me on the price talking 400 for mufflers so i figure if i found something decent and used i could just put it on myself.

 

omg dude...i had my setup fabbed from the presilencer back with my own muffler for like 100bucks with FULL stainless

 

Yea First, I know the cops were hassling me. They see military stickers and go for us. The cop also said that I had huge tips on my exhuast. Again just the normal racing beat stuff. I think he thought I was some young punk in a ricer. But when he found out I was old(34) he didnt know what to do. It just sucks because for the summer I cant drive my car down to beachfront at night, I know they would go nuts. I had a friend who got a ticket for loud exhuast on a f**** neon. It was stock, so go figure that a neon can be loud. But a harley, they never bother them. I can never figure that **** out.

 

Its all in the profiling man, cops wont **** with the guys on the cruiser bikes or the guys with the older muscle cars. Of which both can/will be much louder than any ricebucket ive ever seen/heard.
