yea everyone should make it out to zoomfest this year. its not something to miss. so much better than dgrr we get to be woke up by IT spec first gens and rx3s not to mention the spec miatas...oh and free beer!!!! but really itll be hella bigger this year. oh yea you get to do a track tour on road atlanta for free then theres the driving on sunday its abit pricey and you gotta be a scca member but its worth it....speaking of i need to renew my membership.

 

Ill prolly skip that event once more this year, I got my old food city job back so its hours are freaky and change all the time, plus i'm not too keen on heading to atlanta in the FC with it being as loud as it is and with it having no rear interior for that matter. Plus i've decided to spend some funds on the 'quest to get it up to par and such.

But his isnt gutted inside, I can vividly hear rocks ping off the fenderwells, so my exhaust reverberates inside the cabin quite well...I dont like long road trips in it.

 

sounds like a deal, just let me know when the parts gets here, i'm always free during the day after 12 pm. and if you happen to have a spare 12a header laying around i'll take that too, you can just dig through all my parts and pick something you might want. hell, i'll trade all my spare parts away for a header, they are just collecting dust in the garage and i need to get them out and free up some space. i have interior parts, alternators, distributors...like 4 nikki carbs just sitting on a shelf. even have a set of rear carpet that was pulled from a s3 dark grey interior.

 

Mmmmm just spent $700~ on some parts for the Conquest, hopefully it all shows up on a day off next week so I can really enjoy installing them. Just spent some time wednesday afternoon removing the nonfunctioning AC compressor and some of the lines, I can actually get to the alternator and starter wiring...looks like Im gonna have to redo ALOT of grounds on this fat bitch before I can really start to tinker and enjoy the car...not to mention get some rear rubbers.

eh just some little things for it. Namely: Mookeeh mk2 upper intercooler hardpipe w/ssqv bov, Mookeeh mk1 turbo to MAF hardpipe, Mookeeh mk1 turbo to intercooler hardpipe, Mookeeh S6 steering wheel w/momo hub adapter for Starion/conquest/1G (eclipse/talon/laser), and a single piece FRP Airdam replacement for the Conquest. She'll have some nice shiney's under the hood by next week.

What I need to snag is an MPI setup from one of the vendors on the starquest forum, snag a 3" GM MAF w/translator, and then a nice standalone before I even consider blowing money on a hardcore block to push 20psi...I can settle for 10~12 psi on the stock turbo as long as the fuel is there to help it along.

 

Well, figured I'd introduce myself...

My name is Josh and I just got another RX7. Had an 84 GSL about 10 years ago and got rid of it when the front seal blew. Just picked up an almost completely bone stock all original 85 GS. Only mods on it are a Racing Beat race header and midpipe (full duals) with a Dynomax turbo muffler (UGH!!! changing it tomorrow) and an electric fan.

I have now removed the rat's nest and partially stripped the carb. Done a good bit of cleaning and changed all the fluids.

bealzubub88 knows who I am. I run the website for the local Miata club (I've had 3 of them and still have an 04 Miata). Hope to meet some of you in the future on a run or get together.

 

looks good man.looks like that motor been rebuilt,its painted red and silver or are my eyes playing tricks on me.

 

The motor has been rebuilt, but I did the painting. Figured I'd do something to spruce it up a little. It'll look a lot better once I get an intake/carb setup other than stock. Thought I had a dual Weber setup from fleabay, but I got sniped at the last second. Sold for $2.50 over my maximum bid.

 

look awesome man. all you need to do now is upgrade to a GSL rear end, and youll really have you somthing.

In other news, UPS has scheduled my Conquest parts delivery for sometime thursdayish, and since I was all pleased as punch sunday...I just ordered myself a new boost gauge for the quest too...might snag a universal 3 gauge pod to mount to the dash or the other din pocket above the radio...

Man I finally get the quest running good, get my lil bov leak fixed...and learn that my clutch is starting to slip and the turbo is on its way out... Gotta save up for a new set of rear tires, a heavy duty clutch, exhaust, turbo mani and a T04B...
