Caravan From Atlanta to Deals Gap Info.
 

Well im just seeing who all is going to be meeting up in Atlanta to go up to Deals gap and meet the rest of the people. I know there are a few of us going from the ATL area but what about the Florida people would you be wanting to meet up with us and caravan up together on Friday? Just trying to figure this out.

What time are the GA folks leaving? Cawood (spdrcr2235), Ben (NukeGenius) and I will be leaving Columbia at 6pm as soon as we get off work on Friday. Will you already be past us by then?

If not, perhaps we could join the caravan. If so, we'll see you at the Gap!

Hmmm, I was thinking we would meet everyone else in Robbinsville around 9ish and it takes like 2.5-3 hours to get there acroding to mapquest, which I know is often wrong. So we would have to leave Atlanta at least by 7 to get there and not be late for dinner or whatever was planned in Robbinsville.

Reese I dont know how long it takes you to get from Irmo to here but im sure it wouldnt be a problem for us to wait for you.

after looking at a map, it'll be better for us to just run up I26 from here. It would take us about 3 hours to get to you. That would keep you from leaving until 9. No way that'll work. LOL.

It'll take me about 8 hours to get to atlanta on friday. I dont know if anyone else from florida will be going, so I might be by myself. :mad:

i wanna go, need to fix my oil cooler leaking oil problem first and NEED HELP. other wise ill be stopping to put oil in every 150 miles:( so much for the caravan, ill get left behind. Is it the hoses or the oil cooler itself? You can overtighten the fittings and basically crack the cooler.

Anyone care to post a starting location for the caravan?? How about the Jeffery's off of Lawrenceville-Suwanee and I85 at 5:30P and leaving at 6:00.

Well, when I posted that in the FL caravan thread, it looked like they were coming up on Thursday night and staying in Atlanta. So I figured I would be working on Thursday and off on Friday. I don't plan to go in to work on Friday.. But, whatever is best for the masses, will be fine with me. Actually, we can go across S.R. 20 up this far to get to 400 and drive on up. I suppose we should try to accommodate the FL people, if they want to drive up with us. If it is only you me and Mike, then we might as well meet up on the north side of I-85 like Mike suggested.

Yeah true, we just need to find out if the FL people are gonna wanna meet up with us.

OK so to put a cap on this and finalize the meeting time and place. We are going to meet at Jeffery's off of Lawrenceville-Suwanee and I85 at 5:30P and leaving at 6:00. This will work the best for the ATL people as it in the right direction. And we can get to Robbinsville around 8 to catch the others. Most of us are on the North side already so going south then back north makes no sense. For you florida people if you wanna caravan with us just meet up with us there.

Am I correct in figuring that you all will be driving up 85 to 26 and then to 40? If so, the Columbia caravan could catch up with you at the I-85/I-26 intersection.

We would probably be at that intersection right around 7:30. From the looks of Mapquest, you wouldn't get to that intersection until closer to 8. Does that sound about right?

I figure that we could wait at the first exit after you would turn onto 26W and catch up with you as you pass by. I have Holly's number and she has mine, so that shouldn't be hard to coordinate.

If there are any problems or thoughts about this, let me know.
