I dont think the Barber thing will effect anyone who is tuning... So the last weekend in July it is. "JULY 29th-30th" Brian you can stay at my house. If my house is not done I (if anyone cares to help out) will pay for you a hotel. So I am passing this on to Thomas and Steve.

Brian, Is the guy from B-ham coming up still? Can you get me his contact or find out if he may want dyno time or is that just going to be me?

Mike,

The Barber thing isn't a track meet, it's just a meeting or gathering of RX-8s and 7s at the track for the races of some sort. <--not sure which. Anyway, I think Phil has a thread on here about it.

It's Official...

I won't be ready to tune by the 29th... got too many asswipes not returning my calls or emails about parts I need and the time allotted to doing each mod is running out.

Well, the parts I need for my car are on back-order for 4 - 5 weeks.

sk8world 07-15-06 11:43 AM

Don, Can you not get your parts from another source? I mean you need to take in consideration the fact that we do not get tunners here or in the area very often. So say you finish your car 1-2 weeks late.. may cost you a few months of fun drive time while you are waiting on a tune or gas money and hotel for a road trip to get it tuned. I just do not think many people realize the benefit of having Brian come here. To me to get your car completed and then have to wait a few months to fully enjoy it really sucks!!! Just my .02

Mike

I'm not going to rush things. I want my car to be exactly the way I want it, inside and out even if it delays me a few months. The main reason I'm going through all this trouble is to do everything right the first time and never have to remove, undo or reinstall anything unnecessary again. Would I rather delay a few months of fun now or have periods of down time to go back to undo and redo things later....

sk8world 07-16-06 12:18 AM

Totally understand and agree 100%. I was just suggesting or asking if you have looked into another source for the parts instead of waiting the 1-2 months from the other vendor? I just got a PM from one of the other guys getting tuned and he says it may be Sept. before he can have a day off to come down so maybe it will work out for you either way..

The wait is for the solenoids. I ordered them to my specs and they have to be custom made, but still were less exspensive than the stock ones. Viton plunger and seals, all stainless steel construction, 100 psi max pressure, opening and closing speed 4-16 milliseconds, and they are rebuildable.
