Bought an FD!

Hey guys. I'll be joining you all soon ^.^ Just pulled the trigger on a black on black FD, 5 speed from allrotor up in NC. He's building up the motor and will be shipping it down here in the next couple of weeks :)

evot23 05-12-11 06:44 AM

Awesome and congrats!! Looks like Jax IS getting an infusion of rotary activity!

Allrotor93 is a standup guy, I've gotten a lot of parts from him and they are all well priced and in great shape. Let him know you are a Carolina Tar Heel fan and he might give you a discount. Black on black in FL is going to be HOT (I mean that both ways).

Congrats!

Jon (All Rotor) is a great guy to do business with. You will be very pleased with your purchase I'm sure. Out of curiosity, are you married?

Yeah, he was pretty straight up about everything, seems to be a good guy.

And no, I'm not married. Why, are you proposing?

evot23 05-12-11 10:49 AM

He just likes to keep his options open...

Married once but lost and gained an FD from broken engagement and marriage lol

Gringo Grande 05-12-11 04:06 PM

I ask only because if you are and bought and FD chances are you wouldn't be for long! LOL!

PS: Drew are you counting the Moose?

ROTORX7Holly 05-12-11 05:53 PM

If I married a guy with an FD, both would be keepers. :) FD must be rotary powered only.

ROTFL! MY wife told me to get rid of my crappy Honda and to go buy a rotary.

nazzy28 05-13-11 11:01 AM

yes she is. She said, and I quote, "Stop wasting your time with that car, cause no matter how much money you spend on it, it will never be what you want. You want a rotary, go buy one. The only condition is no ghetto mods. Spend the money and do it right."
She is F***ING amazing!
and congrats on the FD man. No ghetto mods, do it right or do it twice.

BStallion 05-15-11 11:15 PM

enjoy it..

Yeah I don't intend to do any real modding to her, for the time being. I do intend on doing the reliability mods... one of the issues I'm thinking of is the intercooler for the turbos, I read on here that a FMI would be good, but will be blocking air to the radiator, so I'm thinking a top mount would be better. Would just have to get a hood with a hood scoop in it... and a mild one at that, I don't want anything like a subaru's humongi OMGIMAEATAIR scoop.

Beyond that, maybe some aero, and suspension mods for the autocross.

The rotarty is new to me, so I don't wanna screw things up.

RotaryRX-007 05-16-11 11:17 AM

Just a stock location upgraded intercooler will be fine. I've had the Pettit CC3 for something like 8 years with zero complaints. Only other setup I would consider is a V-Mount but I don't want to redo the engine bay. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Congrats on the purchase! Just drive it and enjoy it.

Gringo Grande 05-16-11 01:03 PM

^^^What he said. An upgraded SMIC (Stock Mount Intercooler) will keep you very happy. We may even have one or two for sale here in Gainesville.
