ATL meet feeler

Hello Everyone,

I know it's starting to get cold out and some of you may have started your rx7 winter projects, but if you're still out there enjoying it I thought it would be cool to get a meet together. Nothing big, just need some ideas as far as location that is car friendly and a date/time.

Let me know what you guys/gals think.

Thanks,

Alex

Its not a bad idea. But its a bad time to bring up a meet, the holidays and lately its been cold as a mofo (for Georgia anyway).

What do you intend to do? Dinner? Cruise? Meet and greet/show and shine?

Where? "Atl" is a very large region.

Chances are I wouldn't go unless it was in south atl, not too late in the evening, and then I might not anyway (for various reasons, such as time, availability, not being social :P)

I understand it's not the best time, it's just a feeler. I was thinking more of a meet and greet. As far as location I was going to wait for more people to chime in before setting on a place. I would try to make it as convenient as possible to others.

Didn't mean to bust your chops or anything.

I'd consider a meet and greet, but there doesn't seem to be much interest. Sometimes I wonder how many rx7's there are in ga, I don't see many.

Then again there is "old guys with 12a's" that meet regularly in the atl-ish (i think jefferson area specifcally) area pretty frequently. I've never been, I think that usually the meets are too late in the day for me to get home before I get sleepy (9-9:30 ish), so I've never gone lol.

One thing I've thought about is a meet in the north ga mountains. Maybe Cruise Georgia six gap ( http://www.sixgap.com/).

Lots of fun roads in that area, deals gap is better, but many (georgia) people can make a dahlonega/blairsville trip in a single day.

I didn't think you were busting my chops. All suggestions are welcome.

Count me in if I can get my car running rite! Lol let's hear of some good places to meet!

Stefan2057 11-20-14 01:50 AM

Im totally down even. I don't care how cold it is.

damunky 11-24-14 10:55 AM

Just seeing this now. I'd be totally down! My FD is somewhat in pieces right now but even if it wasn't ready in time for the meet I'd still go..

I'm right outside the Perimeter but I'd be down to meet anywhere inside 285 as well. There is a park in Dunwoody that I've been to for a few car meets that's decent ( Brook Run). In Midtown I used to go to a few @ The Varsity (not a big fan for various reasons), as well as some at Ru Sans close to East Atl/Moreland Ave.

Oh man, we should just piggy back off that... That place is literally 5 mins from where I live. :)

OGTA meets this evening Lex, you should scoot on over there and check out the waitresses.

lex99 12-03-14 12:37 AM

I missed it. I'll definitely go next time.

YoshiFD3S 12-10-14 02:38 PM

My FD is finally up and running. Trying to limit how far I drive her around though because she still needs a tune. Trying to take it easy on her, for now. hehe

:P

Probably 45 minutes to an hour.

I live north on 575, but it sounds like they meet north on 85.

MidnightEmpire 12-18-14 01:22 PM

I'm maybe an hour to an hour an a half away, does anyone know if they still meet? I'd really like to met some more rotary owners in the area

swingking 12-18-14 01:55 PM

always wanted to go to that meet, but now my t2 is down.:( Would look dumb driving a hatchback civic to a rotary meet.

A meets a meet, whether you fall into the category or not  (I would know, I drove my Starion to a Prelude meet once)

YoshiFD3S 12-18-14 03:26 PM

I'd love to meet you guys soon.

She does run and drive now, though. She just needs a tune, a little bit of wiring, and a few more parts, and she should be good for driving around.

Video! :D

Anyone wanna come by some time with their FC or FD and talk cars with me while I work on her?

hehe :P

ray green 12-18-14 04:31 PM

Dude, you show up at the January OGTA meeting with the white FD and I'll be there for sure (01-06-15).

lex99 12-18-14 05:51 PM

I'll be there in my white FD hopefully. I'm doing a lot to it during the holidays and from what I've read on Yoshi's build thread, Speed for sale won't have time to tune it before the next meet.

TrianglePower 12-18-14 06:33 PM

So who is actually close to where we meet? I LIVE in Buford amd I'm always looking for more rotorheads to goof off with talk shop and bound ideas off. I'm always trying to see if there's something new to learn as well so if you need assistance with anything on your RX or would like to help me with mine, it would always be cool to know someone

ray green 12-18-14 06:44 PM

There's lots of smart rotorheads at the OGTA meetings. And the waitresses are to die for.
