$$$$ to change clutch Ft Lauderdale

Seems my clutch is shot to hell, feels very spongy and makes this whiny sound. anyone know how to change it out. Will pay for who ever does it. thanks. car is drivable, by the peddle is almost to the floor.

You sure its just doesn't need to be bleed? Can u smell the clutch?

nyc_scorpio 01-30-07 08:04 AM

hummm. go question, i dont smell the clutch. and when i pump it with my foot, it seems to get a little better. but then again, i know the cover needed to be changed a while back. thanks for that tip. all i need now is a extra foot lol.

could be just your master or slave cylinder going bad, letting air in or slowing bleeding and losing pressure.

All my 7s needed master and slave cylinder replacement, seems to be a common problem. Just check your fluid level, if it is low then you know what the problem is.

nyc_scorpio 01-30-07 06:41 PM

well the level is the same, but its black. i mean black as hell. today, when the weather got warmer, the clutch has been engageing all proper again. I will buy a master and slave just in case though. thanks alot

rogrx7 01-30-07 07:29 PM

Thats your problem. Make sure u don't get fluid on your paint.

nyc_scorpio 01-30-07 09:30 PM

thanks, so i should replace the master and slave huh, the paint is all fucked so..... I will place some bids on ebay to get these items. thanks fellas

Better to buy NEW than used. They really aren't expensive and you would have piece of mind...

yes, new is definitely the way to go and I say definitely get both master and slave at the same time because in both my cars one went right after the next, it might have been coincidence but why chance it. I say get steel braided lines too then you will have the HE-MAN clutch.

no doubt, I already did a buy it now for both master and slave brand new for $65.00 bux shipped . so I will have a girlie-man clutch until the steel one arrives lol. I ordered the steel one so hopefully, now something else wont go out. I think I might go to advance and get a rebuild kit for both also and repair my one one, just to have a spare, cuz u never know :)

If you end up needing an n/a clutch I have the fly, pressure plate , clutch, starter, and a drive shaft for sale in Davie, Fl.

rogrx7 02-01-07 07:52 PM

So do u still have a girlie man clutch or you fixed it?

nyc_scorpio 02-01-07 11:24 PM

naww still girlie lol. I had to special order the parts from advance, the car is still drivable. i just have to pump the shit outta the clutch every time i am at a light... which sucks major ass lol. gen2driver. I might need to get your pressure plate. let me know the price and details.
