O rings installation
Do these black rings stay in with the install or do they get removed before adding the pedestal?

I'd like to add a 6an oil line from your oil pedestal to the front plate oil feed port.
Can I buy this from you? 14x1.5 to 6an fitting or banjo for the front feed, 3/8npt to 6an fitting for your pedestal and a nylon braided line already built with fittings for a plug and play solution?? Thanks |

Not quite sure how its a universal coil mount if it can only mount one type of coil

It's universal in that you can mount the coils in different locations.

Back to back, side to side, individually, side bracket mount (threaded holes on the sides), or "firewall" mount direct through the bracket with m6 bolts. There are tons of configurations for different mounting solutions for these coils... but we don't make mounting solutions for any other coil (because every other coil is inferior in nearly every way :lol: )

They are better coils. Why on earth would you run anything different that was comparable in performance but requires a box in the engine bay. There is no reason for CDI on most applications when you can run IGN coils instead.

The IGN coils work great, but you can't just repetitively blare that they are the best and only functional option if you dont understand the alternatives. The IGNs cant be pushed beyond about 600 on E85 as you have to drop the dwell at high rpm to keep them from overheating from extended high duty operation causing breakup. Below that, they are perfectly fine.
For the money they are great, but aggresively badgering someone like they're an idiot for using a MSD box on a beefy leading coil is just salesman mode. Its been done successfully on rotary engines for years. There's more than one way to skin a cat, people just get all offended when you suggest a method they aren't selling. Skeese |

And that's at what duty cyle? This is the entire point.... the LS Truck coils (d585) and MSD coils, for instance, are brilliant on PISTON ENGINES. Cheap and high output coils. Problem is they CAN NOT RECHARGE FAST ENOUGH... so the 135mj output is nothing close to that when you fire them TWICE as often on a rotary (or 4x in waste spark). They're not designed to recharge this quickly. The LS and MSD coils are great for what they were designed to do, but double or quadruple ignition evens is not what they were designed for. 18,000 RPM equivalent on a piston engine in direct fire, and 36,000 RPM equivalent in waste spark.
Feel free to continue experimenting, but the IGN1A was designed from the ground up as a high ouput two stroke coil (aka rotary ignition events) meaning the internal design is focused on ultra fast recharge times. This is why it's the only choice for rotary coils, no one else makes a 2 stroke (rotary) coil that's this high output and durability. |
Either you don't read, or are incapable or processing the difference. I 100% understand the firing requirements of a rotary vs a piston engine, and those of wasted spark vs direct fire. I understand dwell times, and their limitations associated with the firing demand of the engine, again in both wasted spark and direct fire as related to both a rotary and piston engine. That guy had a wiring problem and you tried to sell him a whole new ignition and all but called him an idiot.
NEWS FLASH: YOU DON'T HAVE TO CHARGE THE COIL WITH A CDI IGNITION, SO THE TIME AVAILABLE PER FIRING EVENT IS NOT A LIMITATION. I'm not saying the IGN-1A isn't a good coil, nor that it isn't a good coil for our platform. I'm saying when all you can do is try and sell them, but don't understand the alternative, then you aren't helpful to those on here looking for guidance. It obviously isn't about having a technical understanding or helping others, just about selling something. |
