rajahFD 03-13-07 01:43 AM

yes.

efranklin 03-13-07 01:53 AM

not that impressive for a tt ls1 fd, but im sure traction was a huge issue.

Pretty close. The coolest part about it is if you get the chance to talk to them, they are really cool guys.

You must not be looking at the second video. The one in the first post was placed there by mistake. Here it is again:

American Cars Are Slow

What rear is he using, because if it is tubbed, its no street car. Its not too impressive BUT, it is pump gas. Everyone likes to argue over LS1 vs 13BT, I mean its 4 times the engine! Build a 4 rotor and slap twin turbos on it and call that pretty equal.

There was videos posted of a Protege with a 4 rotar TT drag car. That was slower...ran 8.76 and on methanol.

Do you know how expensive building a turbo 4 rotor would be?

What rims does that black FD have? It looks hot.

bulletspartan 03-13-07 06:29 PM

that car used to run 9 seconds correct?
now its running low 8s...scary

Correct. There were still some issues with the car. This year should be better.

ihavetwins 03-19-07 07:02 PM

looks good sounds like shit.

jic 03-22-07 01:36 PM

low 8s? GODDAMN that crazy

Dark-one 03-22-07 09:51 PM

that black fd in the first post is a guy from dayton ohio. I'll ask him about the rims but they are 18's black with a polished lip.

GoodfellaFD3S 03-22-07 10:26 PM

Hinson's car is insanely fast (1200 rwhp on pump??), but those headlights look horrible. Yucko.

After watching that first vid (the car running high 11s) I must say I really don't like the exhaust note at all. In general I like v8 exhaust notes, Ihor's s/c'ed mustang sounds really good. For some reason when the ls1 fd was going down the track, it sounded like poo to me. Weird.

That car is barely functional at this point and at the end of the video it said he backed off at 3/4.

NOPR 03-23-07 12:02 AM

is this a new car? i thought hinson totaled their TT LS1 car into a wall?

That's a bummer...i'd like to see that beast run at 100%.....I haven't driven my FD in about 6 months till the other day...made me kinda miss the rotary.

KBSRX7 03-28-07 09:56 PM

Wow that hurts, how about this, when your 1.3 liter is running low 8's on pump gas, chime back in. Until then, keep dreaming and think before you post.

TT_Rotary 04-20-07 10:55 PM

yea, i was gonna say, that 1st video was crazy, that 2nd vid is most definately a ls1 tt.. doing those wheelies.. gotta love that import muscle.. =)

rotaries are garbage on pump gas. Thats one of the reasons i took the rotary out of mine. my car is a street car, i hated maxing out my cars power due to the type of fuel i run.. and i think methonal is a band aid. if it fails, so does the motor. 8.xx on pumpgas is rediculous fast.

Wisest post I've ever heard someone make in regards to Meth/akly.

This is why I wish diesels were lighter...
