thats some crazy shtuff right there what kind of paint/clear/whatever else is that?

XxMerlinxX 02-12-07 12:50 AM

As long as there's no trash in the clear/paint, I can do that.

dj55b 02-12-07 01:01 AM

its not about the paint ... its about having as minimun scratches as possible ... doe to the stuff that you can barely see ...

forced inducted fd dude 02-12-07 01:02 AM

Uh, it is about the paint. If there's trash in your paint from when they shot the car, it won't come out looking like that, no matter what you do to it. Then after time, people wash their cars with dirty rags, soap that doesn't lube well, or take it through automatic carwashes. These things, along with just about anything else that comes into contact with your car's paint, cause the scratches or "spider webbing" that you might see on the average joe's car. This can be taken care of with a proper wash, clay bar system, wax, and sealant.

So yes, I can do that.

Edited to add I didn't know we were talking about Paul Dalton. That man takes detailing to a whole different ball game. I thought it was some random detailers work, as black is an easy paint color to get looking good. So in fact, no, I cannot do what Paul Dalton does, as I don't have thousands upon thousands of dollars to spend on equipment.

I wasn't replying to your first quote ... i was replying to the guy above .. yes it is partially about the clearcoat ... but most of it is just pure elbow grease with using the right stuff ...

Umm clay baring won’t do that nor is black easy, it is the hardest color to work with.

What gets a paint job like that is color sanding and buffing and waxing.
