nice...hang on to your license

I'm very surprised a nearly stock CBR1000 ran that well, I thought it would have gotten smoked, perhaps there is more to that story

yes, i did not race the bike..... and the owner of the supra said that he had traction issues when he raced the bike. As a matter of fact, the week before this video, i was in the passenger side of that supra and we ran that bike and beat him easily. the bike was not as fast as it looked in that vid

2007 ZX-10 09-02-08 10:53 PM

to run a 700 hp Supra I would expect you would need a turbo busa with about 200 hp, or at least that's what past vids here have shown...contrary to popular myth (just wait, some loon here will make a another ignorant post about "power to weight ratio"), the weight of the bike is much less of an advantage as you approach triple digits, when horsepower and aerodynamics dominate the physics (rolling resistance) equation

I can't remember what the Cd of the Supra and FD (I know the FD is better), but the further north of 100 mph you get, the more a Supra with a hp advantage should start to pull, all other factors being equal (wheel size, etc)

perhaps the Supra needs to lose the "shopping cart" rear wing, to quote a certain mod here :)

that supra aint catching that 7 no matter mph they go to.

yes i know what you are saying. my car is geared more 1/4 as i have a 4.30 in it. It will top out at 170-175mph due to gearing so the supra would eventually catch me... only because im out of gear. That 20b with the hpower i have is more than capable to do 200mph with the correct gearing. With a 3.90 gearing which i am presently putting in because a 4.30 is WAAY overgeared for the amout of torque the 3rotor puts out down low.....will do 200mph and that supra will never catch me :P

2007 ZX-10 09-03-08 09:59 PM

isn't a 700 hp Supra also good for 200 mph? I'm not saying you wouldn't win, but an ultimate top speed test between the two cars (with similar gearing) would be fascinating to see

Turbo23 09-03-08 10:22 PM

I believe the stock gearing of a supra can top 200+, just needs the power. Atleast thats when Ive heard

rotormind 09-03-08 11:01 PM

Maybe there are some retarted people that like to race up to 200mph, but judging by the rate that the rx7 pulled away from the supra, Im sure he wouldve gave up well before 200mph. Besides, this rx7 has enough hp to pull away from this this supra at any giving mph considering if he has the gearing to do so.

2007 ZX-10 09-03-08 11:48 PM

did you read his post? if they ran from 150 it would be a different story, he's not geared for it

rotormind 09-04-08 12:00 AM

And thats why I said ''considering if he had the gearing to do so''. Now I know I wasn't specific enough but I thought we all got the point. Besides, your point is irrelevant to the conditions of this specific race because like I said before If he had enough gear, he would pull this supra at any giving mph because he has enough hp to do so. Im not tryna sound like a dick, Its just that I know exactly how much hp this car makes

turbotommy 09-04-08 10:07 AM

lol you guys are funny. if i had the 3.90 gearing, i know my car will do 200mph+ and reach 200mph before that particular supra would. I had my car to 175mph against a 1000 and was in front of him and the car showed NO signs of wanting to stop pulling, I just hit the rev limiter.... out of gear lol I know of a 550hp 20b fd for a fact that went over 200mph with a 3.90 gear. I plan to have my 3.90 in soon and also plan for the car to making well over 850rwhp.. so that baby will definitley hit 200mph... and get there FAST

your point is foolish and not applicable to this thread in anyway. give him a "nice kill" and move on.

2007 ZX-10 09-04-08 10:20 PM

my original point is not "foolish" at all...Cds between these cars are not that different (the big wing on the Surpa sure doesn't help), and at higher speed, it's all about pure hp and aerodynamics...it might be alot closer to 200 than some might think

dbragg 09-05-08 09:11 AM

i want to see more vids of that car. esspecially with out all the noise pollution. that PPG tranny is awsome.

That Rx-7 kid 09-10-08 03:10 PM
