NEW Re-Amemiya widebody . . . .

http://www.re-amemiya.co.jp/gallery/..._front_all.jpg

I think it's beautiful, much better than the veilside widebody. Ya think?

jet_black 06-28-05 05:14 PM

That looks really nice.
I like it.
I reminds me of a maserati that I saw a while back.

Makes the car looks boxy\squarish...

purerx7 06-28-05 06:25 PM

^agreed I like their 2001 widebody

SmogSUX 06-28-05 07:08 PM

Rx7's are supposed to have smooth flowing lines, especially the FD. Thats too boxy.

Still nothing holds a candle to the 95 GT kit.

apex_sideway 06-28-05 07:51 PM

I like the 95 kit as well. I just thought that this one was MUCH better than that veilside widebody kit. I like it because it was copied off of their GT300 design which was wind tunnel tested; also, i do like the race car look. However, i wouldn't purchase this kit due to price, maintaince, and "look at me look at me" factor :D . . . .

travisorus rex 06-28-05 10:49 PM

I would (considering I had the money to spend) buy the 95 GT kit in an instant. I was informed not long ago that JT-Imports was unloading one for $2000 shipped! WTF?

Old Slow Coach 06-28-05 11:31 PM

This is my fav widebody....

This is an Italian kit!! This car makes 550 on a Mustang Dyno and has been running trouble free in the hot middle east for loooooong time.

Well you can tell that front end was designed with functionality in mind :)

This is the R magic widebody. It is a Japanese company.

Old Slow Coach 06-29-05 11:54 AM

Actually, to be more specific, the kit was designed in Italy, it is stamped "Made in Italy", and sold through RE Amemiya / R Magic. It was commissioned by Salah, through MZM Performance. The president of MZM, Mohammad Jaloudi, just confirmed this info over the phone.

travisorus rex 06-29-05 12:28 PM

It is in no way sold through RE Amemiya. Are you trying to tell me that R Magic and RE Amemiya have their designs "commisioned" in Italy? If that is what you are saying, I call B.S. I have an authentic R Magic bumper sitting no less than three feet away and there is no stamps saying "Made in Italy".

I think what the idiot you talked to on the phone needed to tell you was, that eash kit is made to order (meaning R magic makes them one at a time). They were not commisioned just for this guy. I have seen several of these kits floating around and they both were around before this specific car popped up. There are other threads on this car as well. Search around and you will find them.

BTW, if is in the Middle East, why the fuck does it have Texas plates.

Old Slow Coach 06-29-05 12:36 PM

There are answers to your questions, but I don't feel like it. I'm right, you figure it out.

On 2nd thought, rather than let this get totally nasty, allow me to respond...

I never said anything about what's sitting 3 feet away from you. How the fuck would I know what's sitting 3 feet away from you???? I don't know you! I do know the car of which I was speaking of when I posted the link. When I said "widebody" I meant more than just the fucking front end.

As for the Texas plate, I'm assuming it's no longer on the car, with the political climate like it is and all. Prolly not sporting an American flag in the rear window either.

travisorus rex 06-29-05 02:41 PM

The widebody you speak of and the front end that I have are from the same company.
The writing in this link sure looks Italian.

Bro, why are you takin this so seriously? All I ever said was that was my fav widebody and it was designed in Italy. In my opinion, the origin of the design, and the "Made in Italy" stamp make it Italian. How can you argue that just because it changed hands in Japan that it is Japanese? The design is "PROPRIETARY" to RE Amemiya.
My car was built in the same shop, by the same people who built Salah's car. Just to make sure, I just got off the phone with the man who cleared the bodykit through customs and selected the body shop that did the installation. He said it came in an Amemiya box, but the mouldings were engraved "Made in Italy". I asked him specifically about design, and he said the Italians had more to do with the kit than simply mfg.

Now, as for whether or not this car was the first to sport this kit, and my comment that Salah had commissioned this... I'm not so sure about this, and I really don't think it matters one ounce whether I'm right or wrong.

Old Slow Coach 06-29-05 03:27 PM

Let have fun with this...

Look at the new widebody kit that's the original subject of this thread...
Compare it to the kit on Salah's car...

Look for cultural influences in design and see if you can possibly imagine that designers from different countries are responsible for each. I can see it.

There is to many "he said" quotes to make your argument believable. I would like to see proof of the "made in Italy" stamp. If you can give me that, than I will bow. On the other hand, I have my bumper right here. It has a very similar design and is made by the same company. There is no "made in Italy" anywhere on the bumper.

I am not trying to be an asshole here. I just don't understand the reasoning behind all of this. Why would R magic parts be stamped "made in Italy"? The more pressing question is, why aren't my R magic parts labeled with the same stamp. It is obvious to me by looking at the bumper next to me that the widebody is the same design with about six inches of girth added to it.

I don't want this to get ugly but some type of reasoning has to be made.

Please do not take offense to this. I would like to get to the bottom of this.

Any input by others would be greatly appreciated.

Different? Yes. Different countries? I am not so sure. You may be right but keep in mind that these kits have several years (if not more) between them and are made by two different companies.

Old Slow Coach 06-29-05 06:34 PM

Call the president of MZM performance. He personally received the product through customs and saw the engravings with his own eyes. That should elimate the "He saids". Also, I never said anything about where YOUR body kit was made.

user 9348703 06-29-05 07:29 PM

Who cares if its marked "ITALY". Im happy to take a dump in a box and mark it ITALY for ya. hehe

10000000000000000000000000000000% its a R-magic GT widebody kit. If you need pics they can be provided at no charge. If someone marked it as something else then.......well there is a lot to be said on the replicas thing, but I will keep that to myself

travisorus rex---Dont let it bother ya man, the C-west spoiler on the same FD is probably from ITALY too haha

typesarz 06-29-05 10:45 PM

umm anyways..............

it kinda makes the FD look like a nsx in a werid way or its just me

dclin 06-29-05 11:40 PM

The FD in question is (or was, been years since I've been there) located in Texas - at MZM in Austin. There really are people of different ethnicities (more then some might think) here in Texas, ya know. ;) Mohommad is a super nice guy, with one of the cleanest shops I've ever stepped into. You can usually judge a shop's work on how clean and organized it is, and it shows.

Now, as far as the Rmagic body having anything to do with Italy or Italians... I'll leave that alone, other then a guess that there was some miscommunication somewhere down the line...

RotaryEvolution 06-30-05 01:43 AM

you do know that mouldings can be made anywhere.. maybe italy gave the best bid on fabricating up these kits now vs previously. everyone wants to make a buck, why wouldn't they?

who the hell cares where it is made....

Old Slow Coach 06-30-05 09:08 AM

True, it's not that important, but I found it somewhat interesting. One relevant observation from MZM was that the fitment on the kit for Salah's car was "perfect". This can translate into savings during installation or visual superiority to the discriminating eye. It was suggested that the fitment on this kit was the best Mohammad had ever seen. I find all of this interesting, but, right, of little importance to me.
