Improved Production racing from Australia
Thought you might guys might enjoy some action from our local Improved Production racing class. RX-7s have always been fairly popular in this form of racing here, but you'll see some 808/RX3s and an R100 as well. The RX-7s are allowed a 13B N/A with bridgeporting. Turbos are allowed, but they need to use an inlet restrictor which severely limits power levels to the point where the N/A engines are actually superior. The 13B bridgeports are generally making well over 300rwhp these days using quad throttle bodies and EFI.

Man that looks like a lot of good racing that more people should be watching. A video of this Jordan Cox in his little Honda pulling of some outrages passes went viral last year in the states. Do they run these races at weekends where you have the Australian Super car series?

The IPRA series runs all over the country at weekend events. Some coincide with the more higher profile racing (like the Adelaide 500), others are standalone tracks. It's been going for a long time now, although it's getting increasingly harder for the older cars to compete since newer cars with factory ABS and traction control become eligible. Traditionally, RX-7s have dominated IPRA just as they did very well in the touring car series in the early 1980s before rotaries were banned (a familiar story).
