Well it seems as though the 599 was racing to beat the taxi through the intersection ... does that make you feel better?

That is brutal. I sometimes wonder if that kind of thing will happen around here. You'd have to check one or two blocks down before entering intersections to have a chance of actively avoiding something coming your way that fast.
