Wrong cable??

I had someone install Rtek into my car and I am unsure the version and the cable that is hooked up to it is a white serial pc type. Not the palm style. Can I hook my pc you to it or is the wrong cable installed?

the palm cable connects to that cable

Iirc the cable u have is a female -> male serial cable for a pc, which is essentially useless (save for making it easier to access the connector and having a bunch of extra write in the cabin)

You cannot connect an rtek to a pc. So what u need is a serial (female) -> palm interface cable. I may have one left somewhere....

if you have a low cost palm laying around I maybe interested in that as well.

How did you get the palm os sim to work. I just installed it and did the set up I didn't mess with it yet.

I did search. I am not very good at it.

using the search button at the top of this page with " rtek laptop cable " resulted in the thread above being the first listed...

raksj04 Nov 2, 2011 10:45 AM

After reading that thread it seems better to use a palm.
