Ups and downs about Rtek

Hello everyone,

Im thinking about an Rtek. I just read that Rtek came out with the 1.5, 1.7 and 1.8 for the S5 TII. The main reason that I wanna go with it is because its cheap, controls ignition (big plus for me) takes off my oil metering pump and it works with my 720 injectors.

I wanna hear all the goods and bads about the Rtek. Currently Im running an AFC Neo with 720cc secondaries, stock turbo and intercooler, no emissions and 13 psi (doenst hold:wallbash: ) on my S5 TII.

So I just wanna know how many of you guys have it. How good is it? And if you have any problems with it?

Thanks,

-Chris

Have a rtek 1.7 in my vert, and I love it so far. The 3500 rpm secondary staging eliminated the hesitation I had with my NA motor. Plus, no more accelerated warmup system jacking my rpms up to 3k. You're not going to be able to tune it like with an AFC, but you get the simplicity of: plug in, done.

Right now I dont get the hesitation every one gets (weird) I have low impedance injectors on hi impedance wires with a resistor.

My "write up"

Another thing, I've never gotten fuel cut.:Wconfused . Stock S5 ECU with S5 N/A harness ( Neo now...). I've also eliminate the accelerated warm up. The bad thing about it is that all 4 of my spark plugs are NGK Iridiums BR10EIX and it sucks to start when its cold. I actually have to sit there and warm it up my self other wise it wont idle. I read that I can actually keep my AFC for fine tunning. Plus if I were to go with bigger injectors itll work well. (maxed out 720s)

For now you will have to keep your Safc for tuning. The version that allows you to tune, and to do timeing, is the 2.0. Its not out yet.

Personally, I'd wait for the 2.0 version. That is something you can make adjustments with i.e timing, fuel and a bunch of other features like logging. With a chip you've no ability to ajust things.......and blow your engine up doing the adjustments (humor).

Then again, what is available is plug and play and cheaper also. Could do what is available and then later get the 2.0.

Thanks...I think I will wait for the 2.0. Is there any news on the AFM delete for the 2.0?
